Is it just because one moderator is not interested?



Seems to me that someone still has too much control of everybody else and not enough self-control.



Surely a lighter foot on the brake pedal could be applied.

As a matter of historical fact I stopped posting on this forum because an unnamed moderator started editing my posts... with no annotation to say they'd done it, who it was or the reason for so doing.



Hans, if someone hiding behind anonymity was editing your posts, would you be happy with that situation?

Posters to DC's Joke string for atheists, were getting a little hot under the collar and the personal insults were starting to fly in my direction. Once again proving that there are a number of people here who will insult anyone who does not agree with their own very narrow viewpoint, on anything, regardless of the subject. Too many forum members love sycophants, post misleading and inaccurate information, or try repetitively to stir up the same old same old stuff time and time again.

And as for asking why does God allow earthquakes...? well that old chestnut from the the "101 for atheists training manual" is about as daft as me trying to prove there is a God.

And just for the record, I have no objection to religious jokes, Dave Allen's take of this subject was fascinating, especially with his dry sense of humour.

Quite right the thread should be closed before it degenerates into 4 letter words which is probably the real level of several of the posters here..

Ha ha ha... Hans you are just so perfect. I don't feel the need to 'belong' like you do. Slavishly supporting the board no matter how far away from that which is healthy it goes, is not my idea of the way to behave.



I had merely put a request for people to support the re-opening ceremony of a local health centre, which drew an unnecessarily barbed comment about (not about me) from a member who it would appear had misread my original post.



I replied saying I thought their post was "mean spirited" given the nature of the thread and setting out my reasons why.



Subsequently my post was edited by someone who has not had the courage to come clean.



So I left to see if it improved. It would seem it hasn't.

I did like this board in the first place... When Izzet did the moderating job it was good. Since the likes of you started moderating it's gone so far down hill it is unrecognisable when compared with the old Cyprus44. Yes you have made it what it is now and that is worse.



Particularly by your being a party to a clique of small minded busy-bodies who find it good sport to rally round and gang-up up on individuals who refuse to hold the narrow-minded view of things they favour.



NN as for my being the acidic poster of the week, I guess you meant acerbic. I could never aspire to the depths you plumb...



If you want to bandy words about our wives all well and good but remember you brought it up.

I manage to sort out a lot of problems via e-mail and that is the way I prefer to do it. If you cannot be bothered to contact me via e-mail then all I can assume is that you do not want a problem to be sorted.

Groucho - it matters not to me where/when you post, but I seem to remember that when you removed yourself from this forum a while ago (i.e. stopped posting on here) you changed your profile to read "Moderated off the board" or words to that effect.



I must admit, I did wonder what prompted your decision to return. Please don't get me wrong; I find a lot of your postings very informative and it's nice to see someone who can spell and punctuate correctly. However, I will say that, within a very short space of time, you were complaining once again about 'over moderation'.



This being the case, I do wonder why you decided to recommence posting on here?
