Just a thought, when our two solar panels blew off their mounts onto and smashing our roof tiles as well as one of the panels. It materiaised that none of the damage was covered by the house insurance from Credit West. Check your poicies people - it's in the small print. So what is covered for the money?

Dont think that any policy covers you for damage caused by "Acts of God".

Insurance policies don't usually use the "Act of God" excuse anymore, it's always wise to check exactly what is covered.

An act of God is a natural catastrophe which no one can prevent such as an earthquake, a tidal wave, a volcanic eruption, a hurricane or a tornado. An act of God is generally considered an act attributable to nature without human interference. For example, damage from a tornado or a lightning strike would be considered an act of God. Damage would not be considered an act of God if it is caused by the property owner.

Message 8 - not necessarily. Policies sometimes specify earthquake damage cover etc. Can sigorta paid us for a lightening strike to our house. Just check your policy details for your cover.

Basheer you can add perils to your insurances for extra cover and yes this cost a little more but not alot.

Guys

it depends on the cover you take out and the perils you have in your insurance policy for example Eatrhquake cover is standard for my company and floods

You can add or take away any perils but you need to talk to the insuance person and tell them exactly what cover you want and yes the more you have the more the cost

But its not about cost when you are covered and the claims are dealt with is it?

Basheer

I don't think any insurance co here would include pumps and central heating systems, they wouldn't in the UK. Most insurance co's here will not cover damage as a result of constructor defects.

If SaraJB is reading, do you have any further information on your travel insurance? Our agent offers it but would like to confirm the cover, will email you off board if you prefer. Looking for a one year policy to cover Europe & USA.

Some companies don't include windows, they have to be insured separately.

A concrete tent is a concrete tent - why bother insuring at all?
