We went last week and I agree with everyone here, the food was excellent though the portions were small and my partner had to order a side order of chips with his steak but the meal was top notch. Loved the puds!!!

The service was excellent and the atmosphere was good. Very nice decor and we will definately go back with visitors. Restaurants like this will give tourists as well as locals, the right impression of North Cyprus. 10/10

Went Tuesday night with party of eight, food was very good, service and decor both excellent. Chef came out to meet us afterwards. Whole evening was great, we arrived at 7.30 and left after 11pm don't know where the time went, always a good sign.

Went as a party of 4 on Tuesday. Service was initially a bit disjointed, no greeting just 3 guys passing the buck from one to the other but did pick up as the evening went on. The food was impressive, prices were good. We went through 3 bottles of wine, all Trivento which were fine, but when we asked for just a glass of same, were told "no only house wine by the glass". Bill came to 280tl, no real logic in why they declined the glass as they charge 8tl per glass and they probably pay no more than 10tl wholesale per bottle. They could easily have sold on remaining contents of bottle as house wine. Could do better....

Pogle, Yes If I remember rightly, they have some good vegi selections. I had a nice wild mushroom risotto,

there was also the usual suspect vegi type pasta dishes and pizza's.

Have to say I we have been two or three times and each time the food was very good and at a reasonable price. The only problem is the relay of waiters to get a drink

We went to Tango To Buddha last week and I have to say we were not that impressed. When we arrived and went in past the two doormen ( good job they had them some of the kids in there would have been thrown out of Mother Care) we waited for ten minutes until a member of staff came up to us. We didn't think he was a member of staff at first as he had old jeans and trainers on and a scruffy top, We told him we had booked and he then got another staff member to find us on the list. Got shown to our table and looked at menu. Between ordering starter and receiving it was an hour. Starter was okay, not anything you wouldn't get elsewhere. After about 45 minutes form finishing starter main course came. Again only average. Water served to us was warm and there was no bread rolls. Had to work hard to get staff members attention for bill. Left without leaving tip past the muscle bound doormen.

In contrast ate at Bo Thai and Niazes....Both head and shoulders above Tango.

Not judgemental much then. I am afraid that I will not be led by someone who judges the quality of the restaurant/bar/club/cafe by the age of the clientelle. I am sorry you had a bad time but do you really think it is fair to criticise the restaurant for their doorman, waiters dress code and age of the other people in there which by the way has no age limit for entry as my 16 year old daughter often enjoys herself there. I like T2B and will continue to go there and realise that it takes a while to be served because it is very popular and therefore very busy.

Sorry, after 6 weeks of not posting because I felt I was getting over involved, I have started again. I realise you were probably trying to advise others on the things you didn't like but there are too many people IMO who do this by assuming that others feel exactly the same, probably not your intent but that is how it came across to me.

Sorry that you are yet another person who didn't get exactly what they had hoped for.

well said proger. i will continue to support tango to buddha because it is different from the usual restaurants you find in cyprus, the waiters make a huge effort to speak to me in english every time i go to tango even though the rest of my friends speak turkish, the atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly.

In my opinion, it is nice to let your food settle before being given your next course. If you are in a hurry there is always burger city! And at Tango to Buddha every single dish is made from scratch when it is ordered instead of the fast food style kebabs that you get at Niazis which are prepared beforehand and kept hot.

Went in May, we felt old but the clientelle were very happy and enjoying thier evennig. We soon got over it.

We watched a show were a Violinist played along to a combine music mix of English / Turkish music.

We were amazed. Yes drinks were more expensive then usual bars but it was so worth it. Mind the steps - we all tripped on one or the other he he.

Brilliant ambiance a well spent Saturday night. Thanks Tango to Buddha.

Proger1,

I wasnt judging the restaurant by the age of the customers. We had our 13 yr old daughter with us ! My tongue in cheek point was that they had doorstaff yu would expect to see on a pub door when the customers were all well behaved.

I disagree of standard of staff dress. The man who eventually greeted us looked like he had just popped in from some form of manual work. We didnt even think he was staff at first !

With regards to staff service we noted that it took 5 staff to serve a table of 5 next to us. Hardly efficient resourcing.

Having a break between courses is acceptable but there is a limit!

You and Nikegirl can of course eat where you want to.

I can post my own views on a restaurant as long as I can evidence what I say. And in this case I can.

Hope that this hasnt caused you to get too stressed, it was only calling it as we saw it!

Sorry, I still can't make head nor tail of your toungue in cheek comment, as I was not in attendance that night I can only guess after reading your comments again that you are implying the door staff or security as some call them were a bit small for your taste.

I could pick holes in several of your comments again but that would be my opinion against yours and would probably never be the same so lets leave it as, you didn't enjoy it there, I do and lets give the rest of the world the chance to make their own decisions without being swayed by our positive or negative thoughts.

by the way, if I am right in my assumption that you are sarcasticly pointing out the size of the door security, you might be interested to know that past evidence shows that large aggressive looking security brings out the aggressive nature of customers.

I hope you do find the place that suits you in the future.

Proger,

My impression of AndyLynneW's comments about the doormen were obviously different from yours.

I thought he was remarking that it was strange to have burly bouncers on the door of an upmarket restaurant with a family clientele !

Doormen are usually required at casinos, clubs and rowdy bars.

cronos, if that was the intent of the comment then I did missunderstand but then you have to remember that T2B is not just a restaurant, it is a cafe that turns into a bar that becomes a restaurants and ends up as a club.

As for the front of house security, it is there for several reasons and throwing people out in a burly manner is hopefully one of the last jobs they are required to do.

Now, I will admit that I have never worked the door in NC except for the time I had to stop that woman beating her husband up for being drunk (I promised her I would drink less the next time) but I assume they have similar idealisms to most upmarket clubs which is for security not for brawling. i.e. if a fire broke out in the club, would you know the safe way to exit and safe area to stand, once clear, and how many customers there were in the club to account for?
