I have a 2009 manufactured Panasonic dvd recorder with internal twin satellite tuners. I have been advised that I can recieve all 'free to air' UK channels via Astra 2 if I have a 4.2 metre dish connected. This is at a considerable cost. The question I have is this: The Panasonic manual says I have to have two dishes in order to record one channel whilst watching another. or will the enormous dish suffice? I have my doubts.

Secondly has anybody out there had experience of this and are there any of you with seconhand dsihes for sale ?

Well you would need one hell of a big garden to house two 4.2 dishes.

I have 2 sky+ boxes, one in the sitting room and one in the bedroom, I pay for the two boxes in the UK to sky and can watch and record at the same time on either box and can watch different channels as well..hope that helps.

Bernard

Iceman will fit you a QUAD LNB made by invacom which gives you the equivalent of having 4 x 4.2m dishes ;)

He speaks PERFECT English and knows all the latest SKY / Astra settings

As you can see from the semi-literate spam contributions - others can do supply and fit... but you want the best, right ? ;)

Thanks for all your input and replies guys. Will shop around.

Incidentally have been reliably informed that one 4.2 will be adequate as there will be a splitter installed to enable my dual tuners.

Cheers

Dear AJ,

re msg 12

Nought unfair..

This is a product for Irish / British folks, requiring intimate knowledge of THEIR tv .... if you don't speak good English you're not going to be 'au fais' with freq/ transponder updates, and be able to post on the sat engineer tech forums..

If you can point out any other English speaking sat engineerin 'TRNC' who's knowledge is as sought after....
