It is free parking at Acapulco , just tell them that you are going to use the sauna services.

The hamam in North Nicosia was still closed for renovations as at a few weeks ago.

Funnily enough there is another traditional Turkish hamam on the South side of Niocosia near the green line and there is a ROC tourist office nearby as well which has brochures and can give directions if you cant find it. Cant remember the pricing but think from memory it seemed reasonable.

I used to go to an original Turkish baths in Queensway, London. They had 3 rooms, each was a lot hotter (and smaller) than the previous room. Lots of other facilities as well. It had a freezing cold plunge bath, and you could have a light lunch upstairs. In earlier days, you could even stay overnight in little cubicles similar to hospital wards.

There's nothing better than a good sleep after a tiring day having a good "schvitz"!

Would love to go to Nicosia when it's refurbished.

You're thinking of the Omeriye Hamam, here http://www.hamambaths.com/ and here http://www.whatson-northcyprus.com/interest/nicosia/south_nicosia/omeriye_baths.htm

They're about 10 minutes walk from the crossing point, next to the Omerye mosque. (as the crow flies 45 degree angle from the crossing point, half way to the city wall. I haven't used the baths, but I visited to take my photos, and they seemed quite friendly

Txs, you are right the Porchester baths in London was great my father tells me back in the 50's he and his pals used to go back to sleep there after clubbing in the West End. It was also used for overnight stays by the race jockey's who had rides the following day at courses in the home counties.
