First of all I would like to say thanks for all replies to my queries.

In the light of a future settlement if there was a deal to include compensation to GC would it be at today's value of of 1974. If the latter then surely the amount would be very small and insignificant. Alternatively what about tracking down the orginal owner of property/land and settling a compensation amount prior to purchase?

Re Kocans, how easy is it to find a property/land for sale that already has a Kocan?

Many thanks

didn't the annan plan have this written in to it - something about current book value or market value of land and property - unsure of where they would establish current value from though? Certainly don't believe that it would be 1974 prices!

I know someone who has gone the route with their GC landowner, but don't believe that it is wise to do this unless you are a cypriot, before having sought out a lawyers advice first.

re kocans - all land and property already has a kocan in existence

All property has a Kocan!!!!!!!!! Most is issued post 1974 by KKTC.

If you mean pre 1974 title, the only way to confirm the validity is to go to land registry in South Nicosia. Anyone else telling you may well be not giving correct info.
