Hi everyone,

could really do with some advise!

We are furnishing our new house in Lapta and have a few problems getting decent curtains at decent prices.

Have just been quoted over £3000 which is way beyond our budget and we are running out of time.

Does anyone know of any curtain makers that our reasonable and that can be trusted?

Would be grateful of any advise/ help at all.

Cheers

danny & leanne

We were very disappointed with the Curtain Shop. Our curtains had to go back to them 3 times.

First they came to us with the curtains unlined, the invoice was quoted for lined curtains, and very crooked hems. Next they came back lined and machined crookedly down the leading edge, then they returned them again with the lady who made them, they had a hem on the leading edge but the machining which had been unpicked had been left in and they still had crooked hems! To this day I hate them and the hems are still uneven.

I personally would never use the Curtain Shop again, I would use Huseyn's mother at Mermaid fabrics whose curtains I have seen in friends houses and they are far superior to ours. Or as mentioned above Hay Hay whose work I have also seen.

Hi Danny,

We went into nicosia in december and took our measurements ,we went into the lanes and there are a few curtain makers there. The one we used made our curtains complete with hooks for 100lira and they were ready in a couple of hours!! one curtain was 4 mts wide and one was 3mts and they were 104ins long and they are a perfect fit for our windows..

We would not go anywhere else now.

Hi Danny and Leanne We purchased our curtains and blinds from the curtain shop and we paid £600 for a two bedroom apartment on Crystal Bay Marina and we would highly recommend them. Tony.

we've always used the curtain shop. had none of the problems mentioned above. Once one of the curtains was the wrong length, but was taken away and redone within a day. Can't remember exactly, but think we paid about £800 for all of the house, including black out on kids room.

That's great for you PeppaPig but my post 4 and decanddyl's posting above shows that perfection isn't always guaranteed at the Curtain Shop! Let each speak as they find!! I certainly won't use them or recommend them to anyone.
