If you can't make it Saturday you can go to Lefkosa Hospital any week day and donate. It is the first building on the right as you go through the gates to Lefkosa Hospital.

Hi Chris, we were there the other day (a VERY long story but we are impressed with how efficient they are) and we were told they only do blood donor sessions at 3pm. Not sure how true that is but it was the phlebotomist told us so I would hope she knows. Maybe worht potential donors ringing first, they can usually dredge someone up who can speak english

Hi booitsme,

Thanks for the info I honestly didn't know that it was after 3 pm, without people like you being good enough to pass on things like this an awful lot of time would be wasted sending people up there. I apologise if it was me that sent you on a wasted journey.

Having just read that Brian Godfrey has died, wouldn't it be nice if everyone made an effort on Saturday to honour his memory and the Ladies in Red. That way, The Ladies in Red can realise how much Brian's life was appreciated, and how in death he can help others.

Just an idea.

Will I see you there???

I may well be rejected, but I am going to try. Why don't you???

Nice one, but I am not sure whether you mean I will certainly be rejected, or you will certainly see me there. I hope you mean the latter!

And I will be there with my lovely upside down (Australian) camera to take pictures of all the lovely folk who care about others. Will I have enough room on my disc?

I think it might be an idea to get a telephone number for Lefkosa hospital before going as they assured me that it was any day after 3pm! I must admit 08.30 until 15.30 sounds like a lot more sense to me

Never mind, Kibris - send a 'deputy' on Saturday! There must be loads of people out there who haven't given before, possibly because of other committments cutting across, but if they all went onSaturday, it would probably give the BRS the highest figure to date, and will lift the spirits of the Ladies inRed as they mourn the loss of Brian Godfrey!

Remember to have breakfast before you go and take some water with you as it looks like it could be a warm one today. Also Girne Hospital has machines for bottled water in the reception area so if you don't want to carry water take coins with you.

Hi

I went to Lefkosa hospital in August last year to give blood at 9am in the morning and no one turned me away and they spoke some English as well.

Hope this helps.
