My plants need a feed. I haven’t actually actively looked around so not paid much attention.

Are plant foods like Miracle Grow and Baby Bio available?

What do you wanna be Percy Throwers use?

I do sprinkle the ash from the fire around occasionally for a bit of potash but that’s all so far.

Can be used I agree, along with other farmy type animal deposits but they are best rotted down a bit as used fresh can be a little strong on more tender roots.

Thanks anyway.

Tip for fertilizer purchasers 'don't buy from the garden centres go to the little agricultural shop in Alsancak (main road just past Guido's next to the tyre place) you can buy it loose at a considerable discount.

You can also buy weed killer, rat poison seeds and lots of other goodies, and they are nice people.

Cheers Hips

Anyone know of anywhere down the East end?

Or could just be an excuse to stick me head in at Lillies for a coffee. Never been there. Or the tyre place for that matter!

How did that manage get on a plant food thread??? LOL

Hi Chegs,

If you are coming from Kyrenia to Catalkoy there is a shop on the left hand side which sells all kinds of plant food. It has some house plants outside and I think it is next to a bank. I know this is a bit vague but another member may know the name and exact location.

There is a little shop in the centre of Girne with a good range of products including fertilisers such as Bio and Miracle Gro etc., all the usual weedkillers such as Round Up, and chemicals for citrus leaf curl, blackfly etc. If you are into growing veg he produces and packets his own seeds from local varieties; they cost peanuts and are very good. It is on the main road near the hospital and opposite the driveway to the Forestry place.

I think you mean the Ardik Garden Centre shop, next to Universal Bank? This is beyond the turnings into to Catalkoy village. In the same group of shops as Tempo, Catalkoy. I can confirm that they sell round up weedkiller.

There is also an TRNC shop for farmers & growers. Very old building on the right hand side of the main road, just before & almost opposite Stroll Inn Restaurant as you come from Girne. It is set well forward of the new shops.

Hi scruff,

Yes that is the name of the shop the Ardik Garden Centre. Good range of plant food and weed killers, not cheap though. I will look out for the shop for farmers & growers next time I need more feed.
