European Union foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton on Thursday said that the 27-nation bloc would never accept the break-up of Bosnia.



"Let me be clear, Bosnia and Herzegovina can only join the EU as one country by speaking in one voice," she said here on the second leg of a Balkans tour. "The EU will never accept the break-up of Bosnia and Herzegovina."



Yet it was different for Cyprus ?

You should know that at the time Greece threatened to veto the then enlargement of the EU if Cyprus WASN'T admitted. The RoC failed to meet the EUs requirement (that the Cyprus problem would be solved by the time of accession) and Greece blackmailed the EU to drop it.

So we have Greece blagging its way into the EU with cooked books, who caused the present impasse in Cyprus by bringing RoC into Europe by the back door, and who is now putting the Euro in jeopardy.

I personally think the EU might do better without them.
