The first Orchid and Wild Flower Walk of the season is on Wednesday, Feb 24th, 10am from Tony and Maureen Hutchinson's organic farm in Hisarkoy and is in aid of Kyrenia Animal Rescue.

The price is £15 or the TL equivalent. It includes a morning and afternoon walk, lunch of home baked quiches, salads, cheesecake, afternoon tea and carrot cake.

This is proving to be a terrfic year for the wild orchids, about 10 different species are out already, plus a large variety of wild flowers.

Do you go as far as Ozankoy for pick up's please,my friend is interested but doesn't have a car yet.Also are children allowed ,she has two aged 10 and 13 .Many thanks

Four of us went on this walk 4 years ago and it was brilliant. Beautiful countryside, lots of different orchids, very knowledgeable guides - Maureen & Tony, and great food. Don't miss the fruity and spicy farmhouse chutneys - fabulous. If you can't make the walk you can buy these from Maureen's stall at Carpenter's on Fridays.
