We have an 8x4 pool, desperately in need of re-grouting. Has anyone else had this done, if so who did you use and a rough idea of costs.

We have been waiting for 3 months for our builder to come and repair/regrout our pool.

The pool was losing approx 1.5 ton a day, over 14 days then it seemed to stop losing water. after a month of waiting for builder to come and inspect it, I drained what was left and hosed down the pool to get rid of dust etc. Whilst doing this 1 tile popped of the bottom, now you can see a fair percentage of tiles are badly fitting, and holes in grouting all over the bottom of the pool. This was the first time we had seen the pool without water.

Looks like i might have to get my Advocate involved.

The builder 'Kibris Insaat' have said they will fix but have not even come to assess problem! Like a lot of builder's over here they something but then do F*** All. Been ringing them daily, the woman who answers the phone says no one is in, when i then ask can i have an appointment she says 'I cannot speak English'.

Yes I can put you in touch with someone very reasonable, but more importantly very thorough. But they will test your pool first to confirm that it is is only the grouting that is causing the problem.

Many of the problems here are due to the fact that the pools are constructed by "builders" and not pool companys.

Also most pols are not cast in one. Normally built up around the top rows of tiles, And most of the time the builders do not use the correct insulation, Adhesive, or grout,

I ran a Tiling and bathroom company in the UK for 25 years. and whenever we did swimming pool work we used the correct sealants, adhesives, grouts etc. Most of them are available here.

My Tel Num. is 0533 843 6539.

Re-grouting your pool will not stop it from leaking.

I will happily tell you how to test this for yourself and quote you for any repairs you might need.

The pool definately needs re-grouting, there is a lot of dirty grout and grout missing.

Re-grouting your pool will only cost you a few hundred pounds, if that's all it needs.

If you want, ring me on 0533 845 8494

Thanks for the compliment, Panchocat,

I don't think Cyprus Pools would get out of bed for a "little" job like this, though.

The pool looks great now. Bravestone in Karsiyaka came to quote for over tiling our top terrace and waterproofing it. They offered to re-grout the pool and did a great job on it. Just getting it filled up now. Nice to see nice white grout everywhere.

White grout will turn grey though so be aware. We were advised to use grey grout on ours. Glad you found someone to do it though.

The pool was filled a week and a half back now and the level of water is holding nicely. Previously within a week it would have dropped below the vac point, no matter what time of year. I know this was a good solution now it looks great and is hardly losing any water at all. Good job BraveStone and thanks.
