These guys have recently fitted a kitchen and utility room, 11 internal doors and wardrobes to 4 bedrooms. Came to a tidy sum I must say. Had them back several times and am now happy with the internal doors and wardrobes, however the kitchen is another thing, but hey, I am prepared to give them time to get it right, being unreasonable does not work over here. I am meeting with the owner who has been reluctant to inspect the works to date, on site tomorrow and expect them to sort out the problems prior to being payed the final installment. We will see. I will keep you posted. If anybody is thinking of using these guys, you are welcome to come to my house and see for yourself. Can't be more reasonable than that.

I do know people who have used Ciddi & have been happy. Maybe you could post the outcome of your meeting. Even in the UK. fitted kitchens can go very wrong. I remember a work colleague who used Moben, 15/20 years ago & she had all sorts of problems with them.

The biggest problem with all of these companies, whether they are in the UK or the TRNC, is when they have to subcontract to cope with peaks in the workload. If there is no control over the subcontracted workforce then you will always have problems. Look what happened in the UK not so long ago with fitted kitchens, double glazing etc. AJ

For anybody interested: 'Ronnies Furniture' design, or can copy and craft and install any type of fitted kitchen. I'm sure 'Professsoregit' can testify as to the superb quality of their workmanship, attention to detail and service and reasonable price! Please note, that although I'm a friend of 'the boys', because Kadir and I build and fly radio control model aircraft together, I am not otherwise associated with the company.

Tenakoutou, correct, the guy's at Ronnies made our external doors from a design we provided. Excellent workmanship and quality. These doors will be around long after I pop my socks! Not cheap, but you pays for what you gets. Met with Ciddy this a.m. The boss was there, very sombre, not at all customer orientated I asked if he spoke English, No! was his reply. But after about one hour's warm-up, started conversing in good spoken english. Anyhow, the doors are high gloss in white. The main problem is that the fitter scratched most of them whilst fitting. They say they will repaint affected areas and polish. Not sure about this but have given them the benefit of the doubt for now. They have agreed to address all other problem areas as well, we will see.

professoregit: I shudder to think what you'd have paid for those magnificent doors had you ordered them from your builder!

I agree with what you are saying about Ciddi Mutfak. We unfortunately had to use them. as the builder put them to work on the kitchens & bedrooms. I would never use again or recomend them to my worst enemy.

NCMan, what was the main problem re your fittings and what did the builder do? Make no mistake I am aware of the problems we face (expats) when employing people here to do the job we are paying for. Unfortunately in most cases this does not become reality until your arse is also smacked with extreme vigour.

Update on initial thread. These guys came back and repolished all of the affected doors. The kitchen now looks fantastic. Great price, good work eventually. Well done Ciddi Mutfak!
