Turn your main trip switch off so when it comes back on it dont surge and blow any voltage sensitive equipment.

Eg. LCD Tv's, Laptops Etc Etc....

Msg. 19,

Good question. the same thing happens if you switch off the mains and have a generator on. The answer is simple: You connect a small neon light on the mains side of the mains switch. When it is on you know that the mains is back on. I did this for so many friends that I lost count of it. This is what good friends are for

Hey, so sorry for you guys over East. Ours last night was less than an hour. Guess there must be something that needed a repair at the power station. That would have driven me even more nuts than I am already, especially as our heating is all electric.

I hope it doesn't happen to you again - at least until warmer weather.

I assume all is now O.K.

As for Manchester City - I suggest you move!

This morning my electric clocks in the house were flashing which meant that the electricity went off sometime after I went to bed and came back on about 6 a.m. I have no idea for how long it was off.
