I went halves with a long term renter to have Dopi installed, when the tenants left we did not wish to renew the subscription. I will have to take the box back to them but the dishes on the roof are mine. Can anyone tell me what dishes they will be and will this system be compatible with these dishes. Once the initial payment has been met is there a yearly subscription, or is that it?

two of the dishes left point at Hotbird @ 13 degrees East and Nilesat @ 7 degrees W - the third was for receiving 'decyption data' used to unscramble.



You will continue to get unscrambled tv content if you buy a new sat receiver that is Diseqc compatible - allows the viewing of two satellites

For 300 tl it HAS to be Nilesat... but 30 'English speaking channels' ... more like 10-12 are REALLY 'watchable' and include:



BBC World

EuroNews

MBC2

MBC4

MBC action

Al Jazeera

MBC Max



Others that are partly English

Gear One - Arab Top Gear !



I'm sure there are others..



Even though I had a big dish - capable of receiving BBC/ ITV, etc, I found I often watched MBC Action and MBC 4 ( serials and Movies )



A list of channels on Nilesat - if it says 'F' under the encryption system - the channels is viewable - without paying.

yes you can use that satellite dishes on different sat location to get more free view channells.

whic direction you want like nilesat, hotbir, arabsat, turksat, you can get free view channells but need a stb.

For anyone thinking of getting this, there is an advert in Cyprus today offering Nilesat for £110



I got it fitted by them 2 weeks ago and price includes dish, box, cable and scart with installation.



We have approx 50 watchable channels not all English especially sports channels but if you just want basic TV then this is ok for the price.

6M's brought over a Humax freesat box but it will not pick up the register satelite signal even though connected to a 4.2 mtr dish do I need to take it back to the UK for the first setup and then bring it back over or is there anything else I can do to get it through the initial setup

The Company is called Uran Electronics 03922241244 or 05428585785, they are based in Lefkosia but had no problem coming to lapta.



Receiver is Korax BlueBox, it has diseqc written on it.



I was given a receipt with 3 year warranty and if any problems they would come out.

WHY, or WHY don't these guys / companies realise that their 'cred' goes down the toilet when they 'fib'.. ?



If they can't be honest about the content, it does make you wonder about their integrity and how they'll be if things go wrong....
