According to a local lady on another site Government offices, banks and schools are closed today.

according to my Turkish Diary,it is a Religious Day:

Mevlid Kandili.

Also a public holiday in Iraq.



It could be an All Rain Day!!!!

Yes it is a bank holiday got the list of dates from Garanti Bank of all their 'closed' days

The other dates for this year are

23 April

19th May

20th July

30th August

9 & 10th September

29th October

15-19th November.

There are a couple of others but they fall at the weekend anyway

Yes it is....all the council offices etc and schools are closed, not too sure about the usual shops though

I think its to do with Ibrahim going to sacrifice his son, same as the with Abraham and his son.Events in the Bible and the Koran are so smilar .
