can anyone tell me what the requirment is for residence ie. what is the minium balance you must have in a local bank account? thanks//

i think as a general rule you should be able to prove that you have enough funds to live on, based on the min wage i just showed that i had 20k lira and that was enough but i know of people showing a lot less

I have heard about 5 different stories on this and I believe them all to be true depending on when you go for residency, all I can tell you is that for my wife to get residency we were advised to show that we had more than 20,000 GBP in any bank account in the world.

I did this and in all honesty the documents I produced were not even glanced at.



The closest I have heard to something logical is to have enough money in a turkish bank to be above the average TC annual salary wjich I believe is around 7,000 but that may have changed.



Perhaps someone who has done the residency in the last couple of weeks can give better more accurate advice.

Hi

We asked our advocate recently and he contacted the office and gave me this list for EACH of us:

- Copy of contact for house purchase or copy of rental agreement

- Passport and copy of same

- Bank Statements - showing regular income into the account ie pensions etc

- Original letter from local Muhtar bearing 2 signatures and 1.30 TL revenue stamps

- 9.2 revenue stamp from post office

- 2 passport pictures

- Married couples need to produce their marriage certificate.

With regards to the amount in the bank, he stated that there is

- no particular amount required it is based on what you produce that shows you have a regular income, some cash and somewhere to live, as stated by other members above.
