When the roof of your pub is leaking... what do you do..? In Western Europe you may call someone to repair it. Hey! Not so in Northern Cyprus! You go to the kitchen and...

And these impressions were pictured from within a car, on our way from Karaoglanoglu to home in Yesiltepe...

After coping with the flooded mkitchen and bathroom, we went to go to Kyrenia to collect the car that Alan broke yesterday, and wow! We were warned not to try. But on the hill at Incescu, some poor soul has lost their retaining wall and a huge slab of conc\rete 12' high is now over the road. As you say D.C. what do you do? Repair? Shucks it is a holiday today and you are meant to be having fun!

I didn't take a photo because I gvot soaked getting out of the car to move a rock so that my car could pass by.

Shouldn't be a prob with water in the summer! And who are all these people who have been doing rain dances????

Well done Hans, more great pictures but not a nice thought with me coming out in a month. It rained heavily when I was there early December, hope they don't say there's a drought in the summer. Hope Pegasos is OK

Keep posting the pics please Hans especially in the Metropolis of Karaoglonoglu

Before some people get worried about The Pegasos and well-known Veli Dogan (first picture in msg 1): all's fine in the pub! As a good TC businessman Veli now also sells... http://www.allcrusades.com/BB_pics/S5001563_72.jpg

Amazing pictures Hans, rather worried when we saw the road with Bell foods as we live up there. Our neighbours were on the phone to us last night to say everything is fine in our house but they couldn't see where our garden ended and the pool started!

Excellent pictures Hans { our official photographer } , it shows how bad things really are there, quite frightening no doubt . Hope things get better soon for all who live there. Keep safe all

If visitors to Greatstone Malatya don't have a 4WD and approach from the Ilgaz side, they will need a helicopter.

There have been several rock/mudslides and the road from Malatya is impassable. The waterfall is in full spate and looks very impressive.

Just heard Greatstone cut-off from Ilgaz side too.

To top it all, they have lost their electricity supply.

Back when the most efficient way to transport goods was by ship, it was common for the captain to hire people to load the cargo on the ship. Typically, they were paid when the ship had been filled. Oftentimes, the captain would sail away without paying. The loaders had no way to chase after the ship, so they ended up not getting paid for it. Hence the term, "freeloader".
