Hi Members,



I have compiled the list of restaurants that you have recommended that we and new comers frequent, I have also given directions to the ones that I have been to or know of, obviously there are other restaurants and like anywhere in the world it is hit and miss as too whether they meet your own expectations.



Karsiyaka



Vaha Spa European cuisine

On the main road take the left turn for the Olive Factory follow the lane the restaurant is signposted on your right



Aphrodite varied menu

On the main road drive passed Silver Rocks, Shevkets and the restaurant is signposted on your right



Lapta



Veni Vici Lapta Italian and local cuisine

On the main road, just as you hit the “Lapta Strip” the restaurant is on your left just past the Haci Ali restaurant



Alsancak



Pizza King American diner



On the main road pass the “Golden Lady” junction and the next block of shops you will find the diner



Trevetuloa Turkish Cuisine



On the main road take the turning for the Merit Hotel about 200 yards down on the left you will find the Hotel and restaurant



5 mile night club (discothèque) European cuisine

On the main road just passed the landing site monument take the second right (signposted)



Cenap meze full Turkish menu



On the main road turn left at the “Golden Lady” statue follow the road into the village pass the Belediye office, post office, and coffee shops, the restaurant is on your left opposite café fast food



Charcos Full Turkish menu



On the main road turn left at the “Golden Lady” statue follow the road into the village pass the Belediye office turn left just passed the post office, and coffee shops, the restaurant is on your left opposite café fast food follow the one way street at the next junction turn right “over a small bridge” follow the one way around the side of the mosque keep going down about 400yards you will see a turning on your left, the restaurant is a few yards on your right.



Karaoglanoglu



Oleander Karaoglanoglu Indian/International



On the main road into the village of Karaoglanoglu passed the post office, shops, the Tempo Supermarket the restaurant is located on your left



Saccara European and Local Cuisine



On the main road turn left at the first Mercure Hotel turning follow the road down to the sea signposted









Ambience Turkish/international cuisine



The Address Turkish/international cuisine



Di Figaro local and European cuisine

For all three restaurant turn right of the main road at the Astro Supermarket (all are signposted)



Stone Grill European Cuisine (Cook Yourself)

On the main road into the village of Karaoglanoglu passed the post office, shops, the Tempo Supermarket at the second Mercure Hotel junction the restaurant is located on your left signposted



Carpenters International and Local Cuisine

On the main road into the village of Karaoglanoglu pass the post office, shops, the Tempo Supermarket at the junction for the Castle Pub turn right the restaurant is 300yards down on your left signposted



Kervan Pizza specialty and snacks

On the main road take the second turning for the Mercure Hotel follow the road down just before the Hotel the restaurant is on your left (stunning views and great for a sun downer)



Edremit



Pasta Mania

On the main road take the turning for Edremit and Karmi follow the road up you will find the restaurant on your left (a favorite of LittleNige)



Zeytinlik



The Archway Zeytinlik European cuisine

Difficult to explain! But well worth finding



Karmi/Karaman



Halfway House

On the main road take the turning for Edremit and Karmi follow the road up and up through the village of Edremit up and up “keep going” there the restaurant is on your right



Central Girne



Peanuts Central Girne international cuisine

From the main Belediye car park follow the road east pass the law courts and various solicitors offices, just before the State Hospital turn left down to the sea signposted



Ezic Central Girne local and European cuisine

On the main road pass the fountain roundabout going west, you will find the restaurant on your left, car parking at the back signposted





Niazi's Central Girne local and European cuisine

From the main Belediye car park follow the road through the town one way turn right at the last junction before the road becomes two way follow the road down and park up in the Belediye car park, walk towards the harbour, opposite the Dome Hotel you will find the restaurant



Set Restaurant Central Girne fish and European cuisine

Park the car at the main Belediye car park walk down towards the Kyrenia Castle take the second left passed St Andrews Church (cobble stoned path) at the Mosque take a left, the restaurant is on your left about 100yards



Chopsticks Chinese menu



From the main Girne/Nicosia roundabout follow the road down to central Girne pass the two petrol stations on your right take the next one way street with a parking sign follow the road round to the left park in the Belediye car park on your left, walk towards town take the immediate right the restaurant is in front of you.





Efendis International cuisine

In the old Turkish quarter of Girne, hard to explain but well worth discovering



Dragon Chinese Rocks Hotel franchise Chinese

From the main Belediye car park follow the road through the town one way turn right at the last junction before the road becomes two way follow the road down and park up in the Belediye car park, the restaurant is in front of you part of the Rocks Hotel



Grapevine International Cuisine



Bellapais



Kybele Turkish cuisine

Follow the road up into Bellapais and park up by the Abbey, walk through the side entrance to the Abbey, the restaurant is in front of you



Bellapais Gardens varied menu

Follow the road up into Bellapais and park up by the Abbey and walk towards the road the restaurant is signposted



Ozankoy





Rafters Indian/Pakistan and European cuisine

On the main road through Karakum take the right turn just passed the petrol station follow the road up and around signposted from there on



Catalkoy

Happy valley International and Curries

On the main road you will find this restaurant on your left



Al Shaeen Indian Curry House

On the main road just passed the Oscar Hotel turning going east the restaurant is on your right



St Kathleen’s Local cuisine

On the main road turn left for the Acapulco Hotel follow the road down towards Turtle Beach restaurant signposted from there



Esentepe

Korineum Golf Club Esentepe International

On the main road turn left for the Acapulco Hotel follow the road down towards Esentepe the Club is on your right just before the Turtle Bay Village



Nicosia/Lefkosa



Sabor Portuguese/Turkish/European cuisine

Follow the road into central Nicosia, from the Girne gate drive into the walled city, at the Saray Hotel follow the road left and take the second left, follow the road around pass the Old Inn down towards the Mosque, at the junction turn right and then left park up in the car park walk across and around the back of the Mosque the restaurant is on your right



Califirorian Lefkosa Local/International menu

Follow the road into Nicosia pass the following, State hospital-roundabout-traffic lights get into the inside lane, at the next lights take a right into Dereboyu district over the next set of lights (Citroen Showroom) follow the road up passing many shops you will find the restaurant on your left

Bogaz/Iskele/Famagusta

Ali Garip - is on the high street - just a little way up from the junction, on the left, going towards the cinema end. local and european stuff available, looks tiny but goes way way back with with garden out back

Thats strange the policeman i spoke to this morning said it was at edrimit but then the police are known to get their wires crossed just like some members on here.

Abbey Bell Tower

Turkish cuisine - all fresh produce. Excellent food, great friendly service and amazing views. Right opposite the Abbey - first restaurant on your when from walking up from the Abbey car park

Karaman=Karmi

Edremit is just 2 min before you climb to Karmi.

So, it's okey if people confuse this!

sorry whoever asked - Ali Garip is in Girne town centre, and is on the road that leads down from the belediye to the only cinema in Girne - thinks its shut at the mo tho!

Aphrodite is in Lapta and (heading west) you turn right by Sevkets restaurant and it is down on the right.

Just whatever you do avoid the Steak House at the Mercure. I had the worst steak ever in there - it was cold the first time and then they microwaved it so we gave up and went to Pine Bay for chips. Also their chips are frozen! why in a country that has such good spuds

Frozen chip need no prepeation

No time to peel and cut them

No wasteage

do not go off

not subject to seasonal variances

Cost is fairly stable



Oh yes they do taste crap But who gives a toss about what the customer wants ?
