Thank you, she is a pain, but doesn't help to have a husband who can't remember to keep the gate closed.

I saw what looked like a golden lab last night near the Dream Castle restaurant in Ozankoy. Sorry but didn't notice if it had a collar. Hope you find her soon!

There is no mistaken Darcey, she is a beautiful yellow labrador with a worn tan collar. She is so friendly and loveable, I have no doubt some friendly animal lover has been taken in by her charms ,,, We certainly were during her last escapade !!!. Oh nearly forgot her most distinguishing feature is ,,,, SHE IS FAT VERY VERY FAT !!!.

Come on, someone out there must have seen her, or just mention this to all your friends, that is how we discovered her frantic owners .

I do hope Darcy does go home - what I don't understand is why you do not have name tags and telephone numbers on their collars like we do here in the UK. My boxer when she was a baby got out and went to the local park was having a wail of a time with the kids in the park when the kids were fed up playing with her they range me, but it seems it is not the norm out there - why ? Just seen a golden Lab near Dano bakery between the Bellapais lights and the PiaBella roundabout - had a collar on. 11.15am...

Hope it's yours!

BoTanica, I have dog proofed the garden but no matter how hard I try I can't seem to dog proof my husband. I foolishly thought after her last escape he would have been more careful and never got round to getting her tags which I regret immensley now. She is rather over weight, she is on special food for this which I'm sure inspires her escapes.

She is dearly loved by me and my girls (8 & 5). She is a house dog, has regular walks in the mountains with us. She comes to school with me in the car. We miss her very much.

Oh dear - I do hope you get her back in one piece. Whilst you are going to put 'phone number and name on her collar when she comes home for Dins :o), how about putting a HUGE notice on the inside of the gate "SHUT THE DAMN GATE".

If it were me, I would put a bolt with a padlock on the inside of it (he pays for that of course) and the key hanging round YOUR neck or in a place where NO-ONE knows but you - so that your husband has to come to you to unlock the gate (he acts like a child with the memory of a goldfish, he is treated like one - an animal is defenceless - like a child, so he has to treat the dog and children the same - if not - why not)? Alternatively, if he doesn't like that, then he ONLY goes in and out, from the front door of the house - one presumes he shuts that?

I do hope you find her soon. Making it harder to open the gate might actually be a good idea, if he indoors has to fiddle about a bit - it might trigger his memory to shut it again!! Good luck x

It does sound like the dog i saw at Dano yesterday. She was definitely a bit chubby. If it is her, some consolation, she looked really happy and was trotting around the car park with a friend.

Will keep our eyes out over that direction until you let us know she's home.

We had Darcy for about 3 days some time ago, she is one lovely dog. Like all labradors she loves her food.

I am just hoping Shelly that someone has taken a liking to her and is keeping her, because she is such a lovely dog. Remember what I said when we had her !!!!! I keep my fingers crossed for you and your family that she returns to you very soon.

Dear Darcey reminds me of my late lab - same colour - called Katy - she was so beautiful and such a joy.......do hurry home Darcey........

Have you stuck flyers on trees or wherever, in Turkish/English with her picture and your 'phone number in places within walking distance (for Darcey) to yourselves?

We use a pet containment system,by petsafe,no dog /cat/or even a horse will get out,100% effective costs about £175.00 and you can use multiple collars at about £50 each, you don`t even need a fence.

I saw a golden lab this morning at 7am, opposite Lemar, Karaoglanoglu. It didn't look as though it should have been there. I think it was wearing a grey collar, so if it isn't yours, maybe someone else is missing a lab?

What if you drove around your area slowly, shouting out her name from the car window - she may be frightened or injured and hiding away, but would come out at the sound of your voice............

Retrievers ALWAYS go home...same as Labradors...if this Darcey comes home now, after a week it will be a miracle....!

I believe she is at someones house, perhaps tied up in a garden, maybe a hunter took her, that happens all the time and thats why she has been unable to come home. Someone who hasn't yet seen a poster. If you all could just keep an eye out, she may not even be in this area anymore if someone has took her. I owe it to her and my little girls to keep trying a bit longer.

Our friend's dog went AWOL... it turned up again over 9 months later! Went missing from a beach in Catalkoy, the dog turned up at their other villa in Lapta! It had been running with the pack... but eventually turned up at a location it recognised and was recognised at.

Keep the faith....

Just a suggestion.....have you thought about contacting the newspapers and asking them if they could do a story on missing Darcey?

At least then there would be a wider coverage and people who are not members of the Cyprus44 board would also be aware that your children are missing their beloved pet.

I know a couple of people who work for the newspapers here so if you would like me to put you in touch with them....please ask.

Kind regards

For a pooch who loves her grub, I feel sure she is being held or has got so far from her home, she is truly lost - otherwise she would have gone home.

I do hope the one with the memory of a goldfish is still on the naughty step (yes, we all make mistakes, but from what we read, this was a mistake made over and over) and that the deep misery and sadness of his family concentrates his mind and he NEVER does this again..........

If it`s any consolation to you my friends Pointer went missing last year for six weeks and they had given up all hope. Then one day he arrived back on their door step a total bag of bones and covered in bits of cement.

Was probably stuck somewhere and couldn`t get out.

I go to end of this thread every time I sign in - hoping for good news. I do so hope she is back with you soon! But don't despair, as someone else said, dogs (and cats) can be missing for weeks and then turn up again x

Just a suggestion....

If you are keeping an eye out for Darcey, it is a good idea to put 'Darcey' in your phone contacts with Tulik's number 0533 8868615.

Easy to make contact with the owner should you spot her.....I hope someone makes that call soon.

Groucho? I can understand the fashion police (going by your pic) would be after you :o) but - er - who should I be wary of?

Like others, the first thread I bring up, is this one - I believe one should never give up hope - I think she is either being fed and watered so well somewhere, she has lost her family loyalty temporarily..........or has lost her way and is trying to find her family again, or is being held by a family who fallen for her ample charms and won't let her go (but she will eventually find a way)

BTTT

I know for a fact that Darcey has stolen the heart of someone. We nearly kept her when we found her.

We knew she was looked after so we eventually found her owners. Tulkin I look for her every time I am out, keep your fingers crossed because like everyone else says, she will be home soon.

Although I empathise with you, at some stage in the game you will have to stop 'BTT'ing this thread. If you want to keep it at the top then I would suggest e-mailing Izzet to make it a 'sticky'

I am sorry to say, I agree with you AJ, every BTT has me opening it straight away to see some good news and then it is depressing to see that it is only BTT.

I'm keeping everything crossed that Darcey is located and returned to the family and this has a happy ending.

Good luck Tulik.

It was a while back, I saw one, thought it was him, checked picture definite no, then a while later I saw a dog very like the photo but could not find the thread to put a note on.

The dog seemed well fed and happy enough... but running wild with a couple of other dogs.
