Anywhere in Girne where I can get tickets for the Marmaris to Rhodes car ferry. Yes, it is running this time of year but weary of sending money to internet companies I haven't used before.

We usually travel to Silifke 12 km(ish) from Tasucu, worth doing the distance as Tasucu is full of men wanting lots of dosh for cupboards. You will not get through customs before 9pm and can be as late as 11pm. Quite sad really, it is the worst 40 miles you will ever travel in wasting time, but at least it is more pleasant going during the day than on the return with the so called "Midnight Departure". Happy Travels!

Re Ferry to Rhodos

This information now is a couple of years old but as far as i know it hasn't changed.

There is no car ferry from Marmaris there is a car ferry from Datcha that runs in the summer months cost -not sure but if the cost of foot passenger is anything to go by then expensive 50e return Marmaris -Rhodos

Unless you really need your own car then i would hire in Rhodos we paid 20euros day for a Corsa

There is a ferry from rhodes to bodrum, well there was in 2004 and 2005. It holds 3 cars and a few bikes, my jeep was sticking out the back and they couldnt close the door, it didnt stop them going so off we went. Make sure you get there early to check in, theres a guy normally walking around with a clip board, you wont believe the size of the boat.

Bon Voyage..

Cheers Mike..will take you up on Silifke.

As I said Aegean travel have quoted me a car ferry from Marmaris to Rhodes. They go out tues and Thurs in March and April. Will double check before paying. I then would go to Piraeus and drive to Patras to get the 4th ferry on this trip to Bari.

However other INTERNET sights contradict this saying that the car ferry re starts in March. Some of them tend to do this. Get your money and then say sorry there has been some changes in the timetables. The fiends.

just to let you know the ferry from rhodes to Piraeus stops at about 4 different greek islands along the way, and if you get a cabin for 2 chances are youll probably be sharing it with another 2.

I wonder why you are going that way, ferry from Cesme to Brindisi is very straitforward and cheaper.

Just come back today on the car ferry!!!!Hydrofoil didn't sail, sea too rough.

The midnight sailing left at 0130,very uncomfortable seats, limited food, and only a drink of cay.Maybe that is Winter time.I was the only Non Turkish on the ferry.Got into Girne at 1130.

Tasucu pleasant town, but nothing there.Few restaurants serve wine.Didn't see a recommended hotel.

Nice ones though coming from Mersin, before Siflike.and lovely beaches

Yes..Mike, it's not one of life's better experiences. especially the muddled admin at Tasucu. Modern travel in general has become more of a hassle and a nightmare of late, and very expensive bar the bucket flights. I suppose the increasing amount of people traveling and the terrorist thing combined with the ever lengthening red tape are the reasons.

Hooray. Car ferry from Marmaris to Rhodes confirmed for the 1st April. My best friend is flying in here to join me for the nightmare ferry to Tasucu and then flying home from Rhodes. We arrive in good time for a fine lunch in Rhodes at 11.a.m. before Easter Friday in Greece. Then big strikes will probably keep me there for the summer.

Welcome Mikelapta to the real world of travel... you have now qualified for a medal for your travels on the sh1t bucket... it's not called that for nothing. If it was a ferry anywhere else it would be scrapped and not even used for cattle transport. PS. It's like it all year round, do not be fooled!!!

MickSturbs.

Hotels further along coast are priced to be put off Corbo... done that... still Silifke (Goksu is the best, not brill but better than the rest)
