Can anyone shed any light (no pun intended ) on why we in Karsiyaka suffer at least one power cut a day, quite often two. We are on our second cut today, its getting worse all I want to no is the reason for them, is it because HE who holds the power of switch control as a relation in the Generator retail trade. If some one knows the reason why, let me know because it is seriously pissing me off.

Just had a brief one in Lapta now..back on after 15 minutes. Kept writing on the computer battery as the workers put the 4th bedroom in upstairs.

Wev'e had a constant one for the last 13 months , but you cope no problem. I would rather be here with no Elec, than in the UK with all mod cons.

How come I think Kib-Tek may have some unexpected problems after the tropical rainfall in the past days..? Compared to several years ago the situation re: electricity is usually excellent.

Yes I agree. Ok we have are more power cuts at the moment, but I just put that down to the weather, and they are doing their best. Where we lived in Dorset before moving here, it was just the same, so it doesn't really bother me, unless I'm watching a really good programme on TV.

TopTen Yes you are whingeing. Yes it is annoying. Yes we do know where you are coming from. Try to calm down for the sake of your ticker and think of all the people who have lost a lot more than some electic due to the rain.

I'd rather be in TRNC with the occasional power cut than in UK, paying for expensive water, elec, gas, council tax. Fantastic chance of being mugged, stabbed ,shot or burgaled their too. Stop whingeing and enjoy what's on offer, cheap petrol ,cheap bread and veg that tastes like veg.plus all the other good bits that come with living here. IT'S NOT THE U.K. IT'S THE T.R.N.C. AND WE ARE THE IMMIGRANTS GET A LIFE.

Top Ten asked a simple question, "does anyone know the reason why?" I also have lived in Karsiyaka for six years and have had and accepted low power (not enough voltage to turn a flourescent light on) and power cuts due to weather and repair/renewal of cables etc. And yes, it has much improved over the years. Lately they have not been "occasional" but every day as Top Ten stated. Nothing to do with crime or conditions in the U.K or "getting a life". Just a simple question!
