A doctor in the US is claiming his patient's life was saved by her breast impants.

Lydia Carranza was shot in the chest by the husband of one of her co-workers at the dentist's surgery where she worked in California.

The man had stormed into the office in Simi Valley in July last year and shot his wife, who had been seeking a divorce, dead with a semi-automatic assault rifle.Lydia was hit at point blank range as he opened fire on other staff in the room.

Miraculously she survived, and her cosmetic surgeon is putting it down to her size-D breast implants absorbing much of the bullet's impact.

Dr Ashkan Ghavami has agreed to perform reconstructive surgery on her, offering to do the work for next to nothing.Now he is urging her to tell her story in the hope that implant companies will donate their supplies for free.

What a good idea - implants instead a bulletproof west. And they even feel the same.
