I was told not all have title deeds pre 74 except word of mouth who owned what

I assume they without proof they would not be able to ask for compensation

So how many actually can claim they lost properties likewise the TC too would have same problems

I understand that a while after the '74 intervention land claimed by Greek Cypriots was considerably in excess of the total land area of Cyprus.

Why am I not surprised?

Interesting phenomenon that - being able to calculate vast areas of land. I read in the papers that when Greece availed itself of EU subsidies for olive growing it claimed to have an area the size of Canada given over to the production of olives!
