100th goal in the PL for Paul Scholes.

He has a habit of scoring match winners.

Do ManU have debts? Yes they do.

Do they have a healthy balance sheet? Yes they do.

Can they service their debt from income? Yes they can....

The rest is sour grapes.

Groucho the debts are only serviceable with europe run but they are lumbered with debt that is the result of a leveraged bid as with liverpool

Italian league imploded financially and so has Spains on unsustainable wages (Portsmouth)

Clubs have lived the dream and are now in the other 3 English divisions

Having seen the top five six teams this season home and away against Wolves Man U were poor in their performance compared with Arsenal & Chelsea though Chelsea were only a Drogba better than Wolves in the Molineux match

Note that Chelsea had an £18m reserve fullback and Man U a team full of internationals with a few £20m+ players on show The money Wolves spent after winning the Championship was £18m

I believe that Burnley are solvent and so are Wolves with £30m in the bank and no other Premiership are without debt

In the championship Albion on their £7m OD are the best placed financially on accounts

£40 + a match is to much as are the wages

The Scottish Premier league is on a par with our English championship in my humble opinion, so no great shakes winning that is there,

Paul.

Art,

All teams go through purple and off-colour patches. MU are going through one of those just now.. Trick is, by and large they are still winning. They have that knack. To win when you are not firing on all cylinders is a great asset.

I'm not saying that they will definitely win the Premier League, if I knew that for sure I'd put money on it. But writing them off when they are at the top is a bit rich. They will put in a good late showing as ever they do...

Of course they have their brickbats as they have always done... that's because football is a tribal game and jealousy is a wonderful tribal mental phenomenon...

Listened to a very interesting discussion of debt in football on the BBC World Service just yesterday. It would appear Man U have little to worry about on that score. However, and not before time, it seems players outrageous incomes may well be subject to review in the near future as it's making the playing field distinctly un-level.

Have nothing but respect for MU-they are a world class team.

Rooney is back!

He has made a much faster than expected recovery due to his commitment to the task of getting fully fit.

4 - 0 to Man U

7 - 2 on aggregate..

Beckham played well, but his forwards could not do anything with the good balls he played in...
