The article refers to US Greeks, not Greek Cypriots, there is a difference.

hattikins - funny, isn't it, that Greeks throughout the world suddenly become Greek Cypriots (although many of them probably are (were)) when anything is mooted about lifting embargoes, etc. from TRNC J

This is indeed a poitive step for the TRNC on the path to acceptance that the region too deserves the rights and freedoms that the South enjoy. The very recent ECHR ruling and the clear willingness of powefull International representatives to meet with the TRNC administration can only be a signal that the GC stance of total exclusion is no longer an acceptable policy if sstlement is to be secured in 2010.

I think that the US and Turkey have been comparing notes!. I think that they are only too well aware that with the approaching election, a win for Eroglu will at least put the talks back significantly. Talat is getting the nod to continue with the talks and at the moment I think that the TRNC is in a very good position to get a positive result bearing in mind the recent ECHR judgement.
