I have emailed all the popular banks asking for details as I have some dosh to invest, but none of them seem interested in answering my question. Maybe they have too much already LOL

That's Lira, it's a huge drop now, from the 18 -20% it was.

TL interest rates will be heading upwards soon.

Two banks over here are offering higher rates for terms of 6-12 months. This normally means that they know something we do not.

Keep to your monthlies!

I am not planing to exchange just yet as hoping the Lira will rise a bit in the next few months. So I will watch and wait. Thanks for all your comments. Is it still 20,000 Euro as a safe amount ? Is that per bank or per person does anyone know?

Limassol Koop Bank are offering 9% on Lira and 5% on sterling. I believe that Iktisat bank is offering around 10.5% on lira. Turk bank is at only 6% on lira and the lowest here at the moment.

20,000 Euros per account. As many accounts as you wish with the same bank, each account deposit to a maximum of 20,000 Euros is guaranteed.

Re No.10: Easy matey, if you don't feel comfortable with such accounts then don't open one here. Meantime the rest of us will just count OUR money for a much happier retirement.

What makes you think interest rates will go up soon in TRNC?

It has dropped steadiley for 15 months.
