Paraquat UK banned-Highly dangerous toxic poison sold as weedkiller

Can anyone tell me where I can get 'Roundup' or similar weed killer.

I went to a garden centre and was given a weedkiller and told it was ok to use it on the garden where there are dogs and children so long as i kept the area clear for 24 hours. The product is PARAQUAT a highly toxic poison which is banned in the UK. Farmers used to use it but it cause so many health problems that it was banned. When you read the label it tells you to wear goggles, face masks, don't get it on your skin etc etc.

I spoke to an expert (Doctrate in Horticulture trained at Kew Gardens) he said under no circumstances use this - it kills everything: birds, small animals, insects, etc etc etc He said it was a vicious poison which should not be used in a domestic garden at all.

The Cyprus equivalent of Roundup is called Knockout - you should be able to find it in any reputable garden centre

I buy Round-Up at the garden centre near Girne hospital.

I was recommended to a garden centre to buy Knockout and it too has Paraquat in it. He was very nice and checked the weed killers he had in stock and they all contained Paraquat.

'Paraquat' is a very quick acting weedkiller, but it doesn't have any residual effect, so must be re-applied at the sight of new weed emergence. You can mix it with 'Roundup', which does have better long-term weed control.

Come down into Girne centre and turn right at the Colony/Car Park roundabout. Past the Post Office and the Courts and it's about about 500 metres on your left on the main road. Round-Up isn't always in stock.
