Has anyone seen this adhesive, JB Weld, Waterweld product in TRNC or similar? It is to mend a pinhole leak in a ground based two ton water tank. Thanks in anticipation,

Richard

I have used Pratleys Putty to fix our pool and a water tank - it can actually be used underwater so no need to dry the affected area

If you can't find anything locally, we're out at easter and you can have a bit of our putty supply

One quick fix is some cling film over the hole but make sure that it always has enough pressure on it to keep it there (or it might seal up outlet pipes etc if it floats away).

If you are drinking the water make sure the putty is not toxic and would be harmless if consumed.

It should work for you; it might be worth trying car repair people who use similar products on bodywork.

There is available out in the TRNC a product called Alteco EpoPutty and it is a 2 part adhesive that is 'easily mixed by hand, can be painted over, works even under water, can be drilled/filed/sanded and no shrinkage after cure' also you can use it to 'repair, bond, fill and seal the following, Concrete and brick/Metals/Plastics/Wood/Fibreglass/Painted Surfaces/Laminates'.

I bought mine in 'Mister Pound' but I have also seen it available in Atakara Supermarket and others and it is ideal for filling holes in water tanks.

I have a leaking underground tank also, my question is how do you get in to repair it and how do you get back out?

Clean the area of paint around the pinhole in order to ascertain the spread of the corrosion, then screw in a self-tapping brass or galvanised screw - make sure the metal is 'bright' around the area and smear over the whole lot with epoxy 'Liquid Steel' - available at 'Deniz Plaza'.
