Repeats of lectures (Medieval Cyprus Fellowship) were planned on set dates (afternoons) in Denizhan Bar/Restaurant in Alsancak. But - and it happened before in Santoria Holiday Village - the deal was suddenly and simply cancelled by the owners of Denizhan. Reason: "We are full." ((My understanding: there was suddenly more profitable business (preparing lunches and dinners) from the Turkish workers on the new bypass)). End of story. This means that I have to find another place for the afternoon MCF-lectures on medieval Cyprus history (the new MCF-lectures will still be given in the evening (8 pm) at Chateau Lambousa, Lapta). Do you know any possible venues (for 50-60 people, afternoon 3 pm)? I'm looking for one west and one east of Girne. Please suggest them here or mail me at mcf.trnc@gmail.com . Thank you!

Hans Perhaps you should talk to Liz or Turhan over at Kings Court as they used to run a kindergarten which has now finished and the space that they created for this maybe ideal. AJ

Hans If ever you were minded to give lectures near Famagusta I could offer you a venue but not where you currently need I'm afraid. Harold

I recently watched a film in the new Girne Cultural Centre.Situated where the Wednesday market is.They have seating for over 100.There is also a cafeteria on the same floor but don't think refreshments are allowed in the theatre. Might be an option

The Girne amphitheatre! If you can beat Guido at chess, anything is possible! On a more serious note, have you considered a room/hall at one of the universities?

Was going to e mail direct, Hans, but just confifrming an earlier suggestion re Mountain View. It seems EVERYONE is going there now. The 112, the ATA, SPOT, and others are making enquiries. Afternoons are good for them, so why not go see Sue. If you want I can contact her as she is inclined to flit around , or I will e mail you here mobile phone number. Of course if you want Ozankoy and the familiar and the friendly, why not try Five Fingers Restauranbt - home of Alex and Libby main who often have events there. The reason I suggest these is because I think they are reasonable!
