Don't believe statistics in general, but this one can be checked by yourself! This board has 8026 members and until now 64 members donated. The result of a simple calculation: 0.7974084226% or 0.8% of the members answered Izzet Zorlu's call. Hmm.

As I said on another post Hans, even if only half of the members were interested enough to donate 2 pounds either by themself or by assistance through someone else it would be plenty.

Hi Hans

Happy to do so when I'm out there in April. How do I make a donation or can I hand it to you?

Does that no. of donations take account of those who've put in in person, rather than electronic donation?

Should you want to donate, you can use the donate facility and pay via paypal - you don't NEED to be in Cyprus ;)

=> Mark, my friend, I use PayPal in TRNC or Turkey - as long as they don't tell me I'm in RoC...

I really hope all the members give something, if they are able. Finding the forum was fantastic for me and made the whole process of buying and re-locating less scarey. I have friends who have brought homes in other countries who are really impressed with the local knowledge I have - in the main, gained from other forum members - none of them have been able to find anything so informative. I would gladly pay a yearly subscription rather than see it go bust.

Hans,

It is not the paying I object to I think it is a really good board.

It is paying for , and not having any say in how it is run, I am sorry but Izzet is authoritarian in the way the board is managed, my opinion, but it is valid.

By contributing you have a degree of ownership.

So what you are saying is Hippo that you would be willing to pay say 10 pounds but expect to have a say in a business that as you can read has overheads of around 5000 per year.

Perhaps you should contact Mr. Gates or Mr. Jobs and tell them your opinions of there systems, I am sure they will do whatever you want because you bought one of thier products.

This is a business for Izzet and as the boss he needs to find ways to make it work and at the moment he is asking for help, not for share holders who by the way are the ones who do get to say how a business is run, not the customer who if Izzet decides to sell us the usage of his forum we would be.

Either donate or don't but please stop complaining about how its run, unless your contribution is buying the whole site should he decide to sell it you can't change it and if you did then we would just change it right back again because we also paid.

Its the old saying, put up or shut up
