Maybe it was the sea air. Or perhaps it was just Prince Philip doing what Prince Philip does best.

The Duke of Edinburgh entrenched his reputation for indelicate pronouncements yesterday by asking a young Navy sea cadet instructor if she worked in a strip club.

His question provoked howls of laughter from 24-year-old Elizabeth Rendle and her friends as he visited their barracks.





Miss Rendle, a barmaid, said Philip had asked her what she did for a living.

'I told him I worked in a club. He then asked if it was a strip club,' she said.

The 88-year-old royal then appeared to think better of the suggestion in the current weather and joked that such an occupation would be 'too cold'.

He does make me roar, nothing politically correct about Philip, the Queen must roll her eyes in disbelief and then roar with laughter in private.

In his more youthful days (but still gaffe-prone), Philip came out with the classic "I'm a Master of Dentapodology - opening my mouth and putting my foot in it" !! One of his best and truest.
