Can anyone help?

Friends who flew into Ozankoy yesterday have found Molly's place all closed up.

Has She relocated closed for the winter or just moved on?

thanks Doug

Did hear from someone who was in there in January that it was up for sale, didn't seem as popular as it used to be, we used to go next door for Jacket poatoes and only ever saw a couple of people in there.

Yes it's called OZANKOY INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY TO THE NORTH. In Greek it's KAZAFANNI BY THE SEA

She was closed during this period last year and opened again late March/early April. Give the girl a break.

Molly's will be re-opening in a couple of weeks following a re-furb. Not everyone's cup of tea but, neither is MacDonnalds and she also has been successful over a number of years in more than one venue, better than flogging a dead horse then!

She seems to know her market and fills that niche, she is also a nice helpful lady so agreed give the girl a break.

Good morning all re posting no. 9 from Dee.

It is of course possible that you could have had a bad experience where the food or whatever was poor, or not to your taste, it can happen, even in the very best restaurants.

Having had lunch at Molly's more times than I can remember my dining experience has never been anything but total satisfaction.

If anyone wants to sample the most perfect cheese omelette look no further and when coupled with her chips and some brown sauce the experience is somewhat similar to Meg Ryan in When Harry met Sally!!

Molly if you read this we are out next on the 18th April.

Please Please Please be OPEN

dougskud I ate there at least 4 times and every time it just got worse..soggy fried bread, frazzled baked beans but to top it all, I decided the last time to have a lunch, Kev ordered a sandwich and I ordered the cottage pie, kev got his within minutes...after 30 minutes I asked if I had been forgotten, I was told it was coming..another 30 minutes passed and I asked again, by this time I was totally fed up and about to leave when it arrived, I was then informed that the food was cooked from start to finish and was fresh..fair enough but why didnt the watiress tell me I would have to wait and given me the choice of ordering something else....to add insult to injury, it had no seasoning and was bland...I left it... I have never returned and never will.

I would add that Molly is a nice person and was always helpful, maybe she should have been in a different trade cos she sure as hell can't cook.

I recommend the Jacket Potato cafe next door to Molly lots of choice of fillings to eat out or take away, very reasonable too.

Believe they are re furbishing it themselves, can see all the stainless steel things and furniture all stacked up in their garden and they have been working on it there, so dont think they have sold if doing it all themselves.

We always go to Molly's for a lovely fry-up. Was quite dissapointed on the last 2 occassions when we went and it was closed on both occasions with no reason as to why.

Please let us know when you are re-opening!

Msg 14 Dee

I can understand visiting a place once..even twice then not going back after a bad experience but you say you visited Molly's at least FOUR TIMES! Surely there are enough cafes & restaurants in Girne to choose from without have to keep eating 'dire' food as you described it!

They say any publicity is good publicity don't they and I will certainly make a point of sampling Molly's food when she opens again!

Hi Everyone good morning from a bright sunny England.

Dee, from one of your postings I assume you are currently in England, what on earth has created so much bile in your make up?

Re your posting 35 I suspect your friends would have had a very pleasant experience had you been prepared to do a Mr Oates and leave them to enjoy their lunch.

Can I also comment on posting 27 from Lilli.

What goes around comes around, let's hope other restaurant owners are a little more charitable to you when they have an opportunity to put the boot into you.

I think it sensible to draw this subject to a close before it becomes too nasty and playground like.

DOUGSCUD..why are you having a dig at Lilli, she is just about the most geniune lovely person I have ever met over there so back off, she would not harm a fly...and her's and guido's food is first rate, I accept Molly's is a greasy spoon, and just to add she was selling up 3 years ago when I was last in there but couldn't find a buyer.

Oh so sad !!!!! A perfectly reasonable question is asked about a woman and her business that is still trading after years on the island, so must be doing something right???

Some people or person then feels the need to slag it off and take the p*ss, some leopards never change their spots........

Molly always takes a break in February, this year she is also refurbishing. Obviously, you knockers do not use her establishment or you would know that - so button up.

If I recall rightly Guido's was advertised for sale on here recently as was Taj Mahal Indian restaurant - both of which seem to be still trading - people are allowed to change their minds and if there's no takers why not carry on trading!

Hope they re open soon I'm looking forward to paying them a visit!

If you don't like a place, fine, that's your privilege, pass comment as such but please ,don't try doing a hatchet job, business is hard enough these days without people putting the boot in.

Everyone has a different idea of what is a good place or not, I suppose the proof of the pudding is in the eating and obviously the regulars there are happy with it.

I hope one of the moderators closes this thread sooner rather than later.

Msg 1 asked a simple question and before you know certain members detract away from what is actual being asked and insults are thrown.

The nastiness of certain posters is appalling and perhaps it is time they refresh their memories with the forum rules.

Would these cyber bullies say some of the things they post to the person in questions face I wonder?
