Winter,

Re- Message no 8.Thats an easy one to answer mate.I had the same choice to make in 1974/5 season when both teams where in the old second division.City played United at boothferry park and beat them 2-0.On the friday before the saturday game, i was warned by some of my school chums that if i was spotted in the kempton (away end) of the ground i would suffer the consequences at school on the monday.

Well in those days that was like a red rag to a bull to me and i went in the kempton to support my beloved united.Unfortunateley i was spotted by the school hooligans, and when i was walking to school on the monday morning, manu scarf around my kneck i was set upon by my chums who proceeded to kick the living s**** out of me.I suppose i deserved it really. With Hull being my local team.

Strangely enough i was out with some of my ex school chums the other night and was warned again that if i went with the manu fans at the k.c. this season the same would happen to me and none of them cracked their face when they said it.I would support Hull city against any team except Man u,its how i feel so why be false,

Regards,

Paul.

Paul,

I went to that match too. If I remember correctly, you were not the only one kicked in.

The whole of the United team were kicked to death that day on the pitch.

I remember that the current England Fast Bowler, Ryan Sidebottom's dad, Arnie was playing for United that day too.

Although they got beat, we had such a great day, we came over on the ferry for the day. It was such a long walk, or so it seemed, from the Minerva to Boothferry Park.

Not sure what the attendance was, but I remember sitting in the stand and watching train after train of Utd fans arriving at the ground.

Memories....memories...

Hi Steve,

The beating never happened at the game,it happened on the Monday at school. The attendance was around the 20,000 mark.Your right about Arnie,he also played cricket for Yorkshire,

Regards,

Paul.

At least your honest mate about supporting Man U even though you had to suffer the consequences !!

Good tip would be to go out for a drink without your ex school chums or turn them into Man U fans - lol
