Back in the Uk now but just wondering if anyone else has noticed the missing floor grille at Buffavento Castle? It leaves a hole about 600mm square(thats 2 feet to all you old timers!) with a nice drop into an enclosed stone cellar below. My friend strolled straight across the hole while taking a phone call narrowly avoiding a nice stretcher ride back down the mountain....Although the UN were there at the time so he would have had a nice comfy ride back down.....

Right..nice day here in TRNC. My third and last attempt to get to this elusive Buffavento happens this morning. Probably get a flat on the rock slides but need to try out the jack before the return drive to

Well worth the trek up to the top of Buffavento for the views and exercise. Would kill you in the summer heat. The restaurant at the bottom of the road up to the castle is useful for a beer and the pleasant setting. Too much food offered for lunch. The salads and bread were good but no comment about the rest.

Yes..and it could well catch someone out badly after that hike up there. Needs covering up with a grill.

I expect they will report back that ... it needs a grille.

Sometime after the peak tourist season has ended 6 blokes will appear to measure it and come to the conclusion that something about 600mm square is needed.

Some weeks later 8 blokes will appear with a 300mm square grille and make up for the mistake in size difference by slapping a 300mm concrete border round it, nicely in keeping with the original castle stonework.

A few months later, with the metal badly rusting embedded in it, the concrete and the clay beneath their feet begins to crumble,

But love will never die.
