At Taj Mahal in Alsancak. There is a choice of Indian kebabs, wraps, burgers, salads and omelettes. There may be other things but I didn't pay that much attention after seeing pictures of the kebabs. There is a choice of chicken, lamb or beef tikka, chicken wings, helim cheese, grilled vegetables and sheek kebab. Prices range from 12TL to 15TL and you can have a mixture of 3 for 18TL. All served with rice, salad, dips and pitta bread. Absolutely superb, big portions and great value for money.

If you fancy something a little bit different you won't be disappointed.

Ted - message 3.

Not wishing to be personal here, but was your frozen pizza eaten in Gozo? If so, I wondered why you would post on here about a frozen 'Maltese' pizza?

Still, perhaps you'll let us all know about the pasta "tomoz" eh?

Regards.

Liv84 it is on the main road in Alsancak. If coming from Kyrenia go past the Golden Lady and it is in the 4th parade of shops on the right just before Starling supermarket.

Having re-read my original post I just thought I would clarify that the prices I quoted are for the kebabs. The wraps are around 7-8TL.

Neil,

you are so wrong... we now have at least four great freshly made pizza palours...

Pizza King - American diner - Alsancak near Guidos

Yummies - Girne near Astro

Pomadoro - Girne - just down from the Lefkosa rounsabout

Mannipenni - Girne, new harbour road..

You will be delighted with the quality and topping choices in all these establishments...

Also the man at five fingers, makes his own pizzas. I'm not really a pizza person, but he served them as supper when we were playing in the darts league.........Superb.

Also Libby, is a very good hostess.

It's great to hear about all the pizza choices both here and in Gozo lol, but please give Taj Mahal a try for lunch. Jeff and Emine are a lovely young couple who are trying really hard to make a go of it here. I believe they are open 11-3 for lunch.

Hope you keep your lunch time menu going through the summer Jeff as reasonable priced food isn't always easy to find.
