Mark, I am sure i will be corrected here if i am wrong but here goes.I understand bi-zonal,bi-communal to mean political equality for both northern and southern cyprus.Which would be overseen by a federal government with a single international personality.Pick the bones out of that.Good or bad, hard to say as historically the north have always been dealt the short straw. In a perfect world i would have to say that it would be good for the north, Regards, Paul.

Paul, That is how I understand it also! There can not be any chance of a unified Cyprus again Surely! wyn

Wyn, You really are becoming so downtrodden (made up word).if you ask the people of both sides of the divide its well documented that they do not want unification. So why p*** about trying to achieve it.Direct flights lift the embargos, let the north look after itself as it is now, Paul.

Paul, I think that you misunderstood my posting. I think there will be two individual states under a representative Government., all as fully paid up members of the EU Call it whatever bi-zonal.....bi communal , bye bye! wyn

Think England and Scotland. The sub states look after local issues (Education, Health etc) and the National Government deals with Defence, Foreign affairs etc. Will it happen? Both sides talk a good job, but have to balance their political futures if they sign up for something that does not give THEIR side all they want. We may have a long wait.

Newlad/Dodger, A bizonal, bicommunal federation with single international identity is the same thing as reunifination. It's been the only train waiting at the platform for some years now and it'll be happening.

Hi all, Its as plain as the nose on Wynards face that the people from north and south do not want re-unification,but still the politicians push for it.I suppose a referendum would be out of the question though, Regards, Paul.
