Hi all,

I'm visiting TRNC in May (2nd - 16th) and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play at Korineum. Last time I visited was August so it was a bit too hot!

Please can you help me with some information:-

Can I hire good quality clubs or should I bring my own? How much are they?

Do I need golf shoes or would I be able to wear trainers?

Can I play on my own with my wife and daughter (8) driving a buggy round - I'll walk.

Is it possible to join up with any members (without wife and child in tow!)?

Is the temperature ok to play during the day?

For anyone who may be interested in having a game whilst I'm there:- I'm 47 years old, currently playing off 3 and I'm happy just to have a round and go or indeed stay for a few drinks/food afterwards.

Thanks for reading,

Tim

Well - the lack of response to my post and the questions I've asked is amazing. I thought some of you guys were interested in attracting people to play at K. Clearly not as no one can even be bothered to answer some basic questions for me.

Hi Tim,

Welcome to the forum.

Although we have some forum members who play regularly, they might not be around all the time.

For best answers, I think you should call them up.

Contact details on their website which I am sure you already know:

http://www.korineumgolf.com

Also, all existing threads on the golf topic can easily be reached on the "golf" popular tag:

http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/golf.asp

You can hire clubs but I am not a pro to comment on the quality.

For prices, please call them or send an email.

I didn't play at the Korineum this year, but I played with trainers one time last year (9-hole).

I don't know the rule with the golf shoes though. Sorry.

Yes, you can walk while your wife uses the buggy.

It's not that bad and there is no rule that all members should use the buggy (as far as I know).

If you look to previous threads, you might find a few people who might want to join you for a game. Also the academy area was a good area last year to socialise and find friends to play with.

May is a very good time for a game I think.

It is not like August at all.

I have a friend and his wife arriving on the 11th May. He is a golfing fanatic I am sure he would love a round whilst out here. I will email him the link to this topic.

Another friend who got stuck in one of the bunkers at the golf club:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eTP2rea1jk

Hi Solihull Tim,

I don't post on this forum often nor do many of the Korineum Members, Cyprus 44 has no connection with Korineum golf club. So I'm surprised at your response that no one is interested in promoting the club. The club's contact is http://www.korineumgolf.com/contact-us-3.aspx

OK now to answer your questions, yes you can hire clubs (Srixon), you will not be able to play in trainers but can hire shoes. Non-players are not encouraged on the course for safety reasons. You are very welcome to play with members. There are a number of groups who play during the week. One meets on Tues/Fri around 0700-0730 (call the club to confirm) but others play virtually every day before 0900 normally. You can email the Pro Shop for a tee time. The weather, though getter warmer should be perfect when you are here.

Hope this answers your questions, if you would like to join a four ball, give me a call when you arrive, PM me and I'll give you my mobile number.

Enjoy your stay.

Hi Tim

I am there 2nd -8th May either on my own or with a golfing mate , the clubs to hire are expensive and you can play in trainers but discouraged. We played last may in the afternoon quite hot but not unbearable .Tee off was 3 oclock and only 4 two balls on the course.

I took a spare cheap set over there and left them in my villa, glad I didnt take my good clubs as there are lots of stones

Im 48 and play off 21 I wouldn't see a problem with the wife and nipper in the buggy but it would be hard walk as its hot and all up hill. You could always drop them off at Acapulco water slides beach, leisure facilities, they would enjoy that more

Drop me an email and I willl join you mike@2plan.com

Club house probably one of the biggest i have seen in the world

Thanks for the posts guys. I'll email those who have given me their address and I'll give Swyflot a call next week.

Coffer - unfortunately I can't contact you as I don't know your email.

Spud1 - thanks for the offer of your clubs. I'm staying in Catalkoy. If you're happy for me to borrow your clubs that would be great as I don't think it's going to be worthwhile taking mine over.

Hi Tim,

We have just joined Cyprus 44 and seen your posting. My husband is a member and has a spare set of clubs you can borrow for zilch; he's a member of the club and would be happy to play with you (on handicap 20) so get back and we can arrange direct, if interested. (Happy to sign you in as a guest - 0533 862 5975)
