| The statement said that the President’s efforts only served to weaken his bargaining power at the talks, encouraging the Greek Cypriot Side to push for more concessions from the Turkish Side. “This could endanger the rights of the Turks of Cyprus in the long run” it warned. The statement came in response to reports in the media that preparations were underway to issue a joint statement on the 30th of March, the final meeting scheduled between the two leaders before the elections in the TRNC. |
