I think with the probable election just six weeks away Darling will 'walk a fine line' and won't be giving too much away.

Darling said "We aim to get all Tax Payers money back from the Banks"

Surely he shouldn't be making jokes at a time like this?

He said "Everyone in the UK is to be guaranteed access to a bank account"

That's good, I'll ask for access to his bank account. )

He's still cracking jokes - he said "this will be a budget to secure the recovery, tackle borrowing and invest in Britains Industrial future"

These jokes are better than Coopers. )

His latest comment is an absolute cracker...

"Net borrowing for the financial year will total £167billion, down from the previously forecast £178billion"

isn't that great news, we only need to borrow £167,000,000,000. I guess that's ok then!

First time buyers stamp duty threshold level increased not such a bonus as initially seems. Divorced/separated couples giving away the property to the other does not qualify nor anyone who owns property anywhere in the World and many other restrictions in the small print. How would HM Government consider property ownership in the TRNC? Is it or not owned or recognised as such?!

If you have owned a property previously sold it and then rented and then decide to buy again you don't qualify.

Also, having lived with your partner (house in the others name) but financially contributing to the 'running' of the property and then separate, you still do not qualify! Living in a caravan before first time purchase also exempts you from the tax break!

Work that one out!

Msg 13

Brinsley where do you get your information from with regard to the bit about living in a caravan exempts you from this stamp duty allowance. As far as my council is concerned if you live in a caravan, static home and not a park home you are considered as not having a official residence. You could if you wish apply for a council residence and be favourably looked on due to your circumstances.Obviously if you own a park home you pay council tax and you can stay on these sites for 365 days a year ,if you live in a mobile home you dont pay council tax and you have to be off site for a minimum of 6 weeks in the year depending where you live.My point is if a couple were to get together and move into a static home this is not considered as a permanent residence and therefore they would be eligble for the discount as first time buyers if of course they had not owned any thing prior to this.

No increase in pensions and a freeze on tax allowances, so nothing for pensioners except £250 fuel allowance. Increase in tax credits for families with children age 1 & 2.

There'll be no recovery. Not this time.

What will happen will be a double dip recession and deflation with accompanying mass bankruptcies, soaring unemployment, a busted currency and burning cities.

Won't matter who gets elected in the coming election. LibLabCon are all one and the same party anyway - all pro Europe and pro fractional reserve debt based banking scam slavery.

Corbo,

Given your prognosis, do you think the Tories want to win this poisoned chalice? You bet they don't, that's why they've got 'smarmy-Dave' up front to tack the flak.

If they win and the worst happens the public will turn on their failure to deliver on the promises and Cameron will have to go... if they lose, 'oh well Dave it's your fault, you are too posh.. you must fall on your sword'.

The only thing he has going for him, his missus is a top bit of Euro-crumpet even up there with Carla Gilberta Bruni down to her discreet tattoo... Photogenic qualities are everything in politics these days.

Just had my business rates ( Start in April not October so whats that all about) up 40% ,yes 40% in one of the hardest times for small shops to survive your caring mr Daring has hiked the business rates now so he can maybe throw you a lifeline in October , of course by then Labour will be a byword and Darling with be head of monetry affairs for the EU on £2000,0000,00 a year plus pension scheme,God help it .Quality !!!!!!!!!!!

I guess we'll have to wait a few weeks to see what Budget the Tories propose if they win the election. I bet that'll be much better. I wonder if they'll get rid of the 5% stamp duty for the purchase of properties over £1m.

Until house prices return to affordable levels again the UK will continue stagnate & the Government has done everything in it's power to keep them artificially high. We have the "lowest" interest rates on record yet the banks don't want to lend cos too many are already "maxed out". Debt is viewed as wealth by many especially the Government.

There is no lack of housing in the UK just a lack of affordable housing & FTB's don't buy houses @£250k where I come from.

The last 10 years (which many class as a boom period) was created on the back of borrowed money that is looking like will never be paid back. Normally inflation is the way they reduce the debt but they cant do this as the system will just collapse but unfortunately that is what is needed with this ponzi system we have.

There was an interview with a young girl on TV yesterday about first time buying, even if she could get a flat for £100,000 she would need £15,000 as a deposit as mortgages are hard to come by, she was working but said no way could she afford to save that amount. I feel sorry for the young ones today who try there best to have a good standard of living, they don't get help but the non workers do.
