I have just been informed that Anna wont be performing Saturday night as she may have already gone to the UK but the very talented Emma (Last years Stars in their eyes winner Duffy)will take her place.

The truth is Anna will not be singing as she and her mother have done a runner back to the UK owing over £5000 in rent and leaving the house they were effectively squatting in needing a few thousand pounds worth of work done.



She has moved back to Nottingham, rehearsing for her new show 'Jail House Rock'.

I really hope this is'nt true, to join yesterday and put this as your first ever comment leaves me thinking you must be the Landlord or someone who didn't like Anna for some reason or another, if she has done this then i have sympathy for the owner, either way Anna was a brilliant singer and will be missed by many.

And you all thought I was being nasty when I asked where all the money went from the Starfever show!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this just another 'Cyprus Rumour' Seems that some people love to back-stab as soon as someone leaves the island. Even if it is true should it be discussed on an open forum.



Anna and her mum are lovely people and I personally cannot believe that they have done this.



Anna has done so much work for charity here and she has had a lot of stick from certain posters here doubting whether all the proceeds were given to them. It looks like a bit of a vendetta against her.



IMHO What landlord would allow arrears of £5000, especially in TRNC ??????????

Just to let you all know. This is true. We thought Anna and Linda were lovely people. Anna sang on Stage when I played in my band many times and we supported Anna in her singing as a true friend.



When my partner and I decided to move back to the UK, Anna and her mum just happened to be looking for somewhere to stay after being 'asked' to move out of their house.



As freinds we offered them my partners mothers house for an agreeable rent. They paid one month, plus another month deposit. One further payment and nothing after that. This goes back from September 2008.



When they moved in, the house was repainted, new Freezer, Cooker etc. We wanted them to feel at home and also have someone we trusted looking after the house.



They did get in touch about 3 weeks ago in a call to my wifes mother, and offered to sell my wifes mother their furniture to compensate for the £5000 odd that they owed.



They sold the furniture and their car, moved to the UK, and no contact...GONE !!!

No, never a full declaration of how all the ticket sales income was used. I now wonder whether the sound system etc. bought from the Starfever profits (for future charity use!) are now being used for a show in Nottingham. Probably not, due to the speed of the escape! When you run you cannot carry everything away with you.

Would anyone else involved with the Starfever show like to comment now? I hope you still have all your gear.

I believe that what iamkid7 wrote was the truth, for reasons already stated.



Just for the record, I also thought that Anna was a good entertainer and enjoyed going to hear her many times.

However, I never did not let that cloud my judgement on other atributes of her business dealings.



Had "Jack the Ripper" been an entertainer, I expect some people would also have thought that he and his mother were lovely people too.



Anna and charity work? No vendetta from me, only a request for open accounting.

you know this post is not doing zekkis any good,they booked i guess in good faith. this is to promote them and the acts which they provide. In Anna's defence they put a bucket round at Starfever for the nurses and Anna delivered this to the Mambo Bar for us, in December.

I hope after tonight this posting is closed, I am sure Emma will entertain you all, afterall she has better legs! And her Mum is great too

In defence of Anna she tried to be legal and everyone who knows the quarterly commitments for a director will know this is a struggle especially if you have a young one to support and regular outgoings.

Over the winter and especially this winter with the smoking ban and weather, I bet a lot of her places where she was entertaining had to cancel her due to small turn outs. After all they have to eat too.



Hopefully when she is back on her feet she will make contact and put the record straight with her friend/landlord and here one day taxes for the small businesses will actually be on what you actually earn and support the small business who tries to employ people instead of increasing their outgoings.
