Well done, I take it you are a Leeds fan? This one got me, I must admit. After winning it that year..................The famous Glasgow Rangers beat them in what was billed as the Battle of Britain in Europe!!

As an English football fan I have to admit the greatest all time manager was Bill Shankly, having said that, they all have to come to England to succeed

What about Jock Stein? He was the first British manager to win the European cup with a team whom consisted of players who were all born within a 10 mile radius of the club. Something that will never ever be repeated again.

Also Sir Alex surely is one the greatest managers?

Complete joke the scottish league. finish 2nd and you are out of a job.

The domination of Celtic & Rangers winning all before them for all these years is laughable. If they joined the Welsh league they might find thing's a little harder.

The best manager without doubt was "Ole Big Head" himself Brian Clough .. Two unfashionable teams from the depths of the old 2nd division to division 1 title winners .. Back to back European Cup winners ..

During your time supporting football did you not think that Bill Nicholson, Bill Shankly and Sir Matt were three

gentleman and great managers of English clubs ( All Scottish !!).

Totally agree they were all great people, but I personally think Shanks was a wonderful person with a great sense of humour and kept the game in perspective, and I think your last bit is what I said that they come S outh to succeed. And yes Stein was one of the few who achieved honors in is own backyard.

Nobody mentioned Sir Alf Ramsay .. Won the 1st div title with Ipswich & also the World Cup in 1966 ..

Still think Brian Clough the best .. Eat you heart out Leeds ..

Newlad.

my apologies Bill Nicholson was born in Scarborough and did play for England but my point is that the three managers mentioned were fantastic people. I remember Sir Matt speaking to me after the last match of the season in 1967 his words of advice "Get off the ******** pitch" !!!!!!!!!!!!
