Hi all,

If the cost of installing a water meter is 1500tl , could anybody tell me what the average yearly water bill for a one bed roomed apartment would be?

Thanks.

Depends where you live Lapta gharege was 15tl for the first 10 tonnes regardless but has been reduced to 10tl this month Alsancack gharge 1tl per tonne up to the first 5 i think you should not use 2 tonne or more in an apartment these are monthly

Thank you batgirl,

Our apartment is in Karaoglanoglu, we do not intend to live there full time, only use it for holidays. Our builder has offered to supply us with water from his well, this means we wont have to buy a water meter, just pay him for the supply. He hasn't told us how much he is going to charge yet, does anyone else have this arrangement with their water?

Please find out how much your builder will charge. I expect he will charge far more than the Girne Belediye. Do you know whether your builder has connected to the Belediye supply?

Belediye water is cheap compared to well water and you have less chance of contamination.

when you come to hlidays, call a water truck, he will fill up your water tank when needed - 20 tl for 2 tonnes - no more expenses like that and you do not depend of builder or belediye - no need to get the expensive connection as well (1500tl)

we still are doing it in our house and have done it years in our previous apartement because the water wasn't coming enought during summer, believe me it is the best solution during holidays and no worry about resident coming to steal your water while you are away and of course if you have a meter you pay the bill !
