Stonoseal is only 21 Euros for 4 litres... which will do two coats on every balcony and terrace on two four bed houses... I apply it with a paint roller and it takes... minutes.

It does marble, stone. cement, concrete, grouting... in fact anything porous. Most stone products are porous. That's why terraces and balconies soak up water and it leaches towards your house...

Super Home Centre, went last Weds and the appropriate rack was empty... with all the rain I guess that's no surprise... If they don't have it, I'm going to try the other southern DIY shops... No you don't need to polish it. It leaves a lovely sheen on the marble. On out non-slip marble it appears to dry to a more matt finish and does not make it slippery. After applying leave to dry well before walking on it... other than that, nothing other than sit back and admire your handiwork... go on have beer you've earned it!

I bought it from SuperHomeBase which is not far from the Metehan border crossing. Have used it on our internal marble floors (enhances the colour-nice)and up on our top terrace it is a fantastic product. Wish I had bought 2 now that Groucho says it is out of stock.

We managed to get the last 2 tins from SHC near to Ikea yesterday - 1 for us and 1 for our neighbour. That's all we needed so we didn't look elsewhere. All I can suggest is to try other DIY places. There is a DIY place on the opposite side of the dual carriageway from Megamart (which is near SHC & Ikea). As the instructions are in Greek and English I doubt it will be found in the North.
