| Current President and Independent Presidential Candidate Mehmet Ali Talat said that European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) finally reached a decision that ‘taking their property from the people who purchased them after 1974 and giving them to their old owners’ would amount to a new violation of human rights, thus this decision is revolutionary. Pointing out that the policy, he pursued, was in line with the UNSC decisions, therefore the international community has been providing strong support to Turkish Cypriots and taking decisions one after the other supporting Turkish Cypriots, instead of criticizing them. He continued that with its latest decision, ECHR found the law; Turkish Cypriots had passed in the National Assembly, as consistent with international law and directed the Greek Cypriots to the Turkish Cypriot Property Commission. The world now approves our thesis and our correct policies are getting support.” He said that Turkish Cypriots would continue on this path or will return to yesterday.
