Hi Folks,
I'm going to marmaris next month and trying to find out the best way to travel to cyprus , ive found a boat company which sails from Alanya , but ive discovered that Alanya is 5hrs drive away from Marmaris.

4leafclover,
The best person to answer this would be UKTURK.
He lives in Marmaris and travels over on a semi regular basis.
O welcom to the forum too.

thanks mcsteviet,
my sister stays in north cyprus and we are planning on visiting whilst we are in Marmaris , i didnt realise it would cause me so much problem.
we can fly from Dalaman for £363 , this looks like my only option, but we wouldve prefered a boat trip accross.
i'll keep checking to see if ukturk replies.
cheers for your reply

I too would be interested in the answer.
We have some friends getting married in Turunc (close to Marmaris), next year and will want to combine that with a trip to our Villa.
I am suprised at the price though. Where have you got the price of £363 from.
It's only an 1/2 hr flight.......

hi 4leafclover
your best bet to go to cyprus from marmaris is to go to dalaman which is a hours drive away can be a hour and a half by coach annd get the plane accross which takes around 45mins so all in all you could be in cyprus in 3 hours including check in and will cost you around £100 for return ticket which is far better for time and greif going to alanya five hours or so from marmaris then 3 and a half hours boat journey and will probabley be the same cost
hope this helps

Flights from Dalaman to Ercan and back - seem the most sensible and nearly as economic as trying to drive yourself - as Uktrk so rightly says.
Any good travel agent should have told you in North Cyprus.
If not talk to TRNC/Turkey experts in the UK
