It's about time I promoted this club founded three years ago. Situated at the Watermill Hotel, Girne (behind Passport restaurant) every Saturday afternoon from 2pm until 5pm in a quiet, laid-back setting with all boards, reference books and clocks provided. There is no fee. There are some excellent and not so good players but all are welcome at whatever level!

Msg 6

You have combine the two scores together after the game and anything 650 plus jointly is very respectable.

A follow up to the scrabble, was a wonderful lunch at Richards today....really lovely, and fabulous people to boot! So i do recommend you come along to the next scrabble day...you never know..you may end up getting a Sunday lunch invite by the obnoxious (but lovable) kiwi himself! (and his cobber)

During that 'Gourmet's Delight' 4 hour lunch, this gourmand tried a wee bit of 'matchmaking' between Brinsley & Daisy. D - but I may as well have been shovelling peas with a pitch fork.... !!!

Dunno how many rock oysters Brins shovelled down his 'pudding-chute'....decadent, eh!

Did they all 'work' at the night club, Richard?

Did you know that mattel are changing the rules for scrabble this year? You will soon be able to use peoples names:

Re changing rules for Scrabble , UK-Scrabble group received this from Philip Nelkon the Scrabble co-ordinator at Mattel today

'No need to panic. The story refers to a new version of Scrabble, aimed at a different audience, that will appear in the shops later in the year. The standard game will remain unchanged.

Philip'

However there are a surprising number of apparent first names (the Uk police have been banned for asking for Christian names) that are allowable because of alternative meanings
