Can anyone tell me how much cash you are able to take out of the TRNC or point me in the right direction to make this enquiry.

Thanks

Does €10,000 Euro equal $10,000 USD?

Unless the notices in Ercan have changed very recently that is the maximum you are allowed to export in cash if so that is around 7,400 Euro.

Linda be careful. If you need to take out more maybe you should do it bank to bank?

Thank you Richard/Brinsley. I had worked it out, just wanted to see it for myself as 1 post mentioned Euro's and another USD. Clarification not sarcasm is what I requested.

Look on H M Customs website....it states on there that from a Non Eu country you are allowed to bring in 10.000 euros or the equivilent, that's assuming that you are taking it to the UK. Would imagine that for larger amounts you would need some kind of proof as to its origins.

Jim Msg 8 - no sarcasm was intended. The notices at the airport give an amount in USD not in Sterling, Euro or anything else and that is the amount that the TRNC authorities will let you take out. I was trying to give you accurate information and also pointing out that if you were to take out 10k Euro you would have exceeded the amount by some 30%+ and could be in trouble. The 10k$ is per person.

The tourist exchange rate on the day might not be what they accept it might be the commercial one or another of the governments setting so I suggest you err on the side of caution.

Msg 9 The amount that the you are allowed to carry into the EC is not the same as what you are allowed to take from the TRNC.

Msg 10............Yes you are right, missed the gist of the posting, however my posting may shed some light on a quite common query.
