At the end of last week several major issues were identified regarding the financial, legal, and security aspects of the project which intended to provide a new arm for Ismail. The project was placed on hold whilst these issues were examined, ensuring that we maximise the generosity of the community both inside and beyond the TRNC.

I am pleased to say that after a hectic week of meetings, all the poblems flagged(and some that were not!) have been resolved. We can move forward again secure in th knowledge that we are operating within the law, and accountable at all levels of the project.

This week saw the core team established and a firm working plan put into place to drive the project forward.

Also we thrashed out the details of the working relationship with the Charity under who's guideance we will be operating.

NB To be fully accountable, for those who wish to see them, minutes of the core team will be avaiable showing the decisions arrived at. CTD.

Additionally all expenses, disbursements, incomes etc. will be logged by our book-keeper, and available for scrutiny monthly.

Net Profit of the first main event will be published within days of it happeneing.

The Charity registered in the TRNC we have elected to parner with. and work in association with is "Girne Rehabilitasyon Merkezi (CHESHIRE HOME)", who's byword is "Disability knows no borders", We will refer to them from now on as Chesire Home. They have great experience with prosthetic limbs, and their medicalteam will source and provide this expertise directly to Ismail and his family, But it is your contributions that will enable it.

In summary, we now have the support of a major charity commited to helping and assisting the disabled, and with teaming comes our abilityto promote, find sponsors, organise events, with raffles, and accept charitable cash donations before during and after the main and subsequent events.CTD.

Well done for overcoming the obstacles. I was going to suggest Cheshire Homes as the natural charity.

Now that Buyukkonnuk day has been cancelled on 2nd May, will certainly come - for the story, but if there is anything I can do to help, just ask (you know I am not a pop fan! I am too square!) but am always willing to help out on a good cause.

You are a great bunch of folk. Mind you, working alongside Richard Currie takes some courage!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for organising the raffle, and yes we will be there. And another big thank you to all the kind hearted people who are prepared to help and give their time, efforts and donations, for this lovley family and Ismail, in their hour of need,

If only it was just one hour, I think it will be a lifetime, And that beautiful little boy still needs to go through a lot more pain and trauma.

But we CAN help.

Important Update. Due to slight delays in settling the legal issues etc. we have decided to change the date of the big event at The Pia Bella Hotel from May 2nd to sunday May 16th.

Also we should be enjoying even better weather by that time, and this will hopefully be the first big outdoor event of the season.

Thanks to Chesire Homes support and involvment we will be able to collect donations on the day. Remember, "Disability Knows No Borders".

The first 3 Bands have confirmed and we will update shortly.

Thank you to everyone involved.

How much money was raised at the supper club for the NAFI ismail appeal

Zerochlor, Why is message 18 interesting?

You seem to have a big problem with Mr Floyd and Children in need? Not sure why? I think it was made pretty clear why Children in need couldnt get involved in this appeal and as they have stated the books are there for everyone to see. Rather than trying to discredit a organisation that are contibuting a lot to this island, I do think you should take on board there are certain rules that have to be followed and however emotional a cause, these rules still apply.

message 23 Stop your bickering maan.

i said message 18 is very interesting, which it is,some one with a good memory quoting from a newspaper article.

Camli. Let me tell you,and tell you only once. I dont know Mr Floyd and only met him once,i have no problem with him watsoever.

But i do have problems with thieving charities, not that im saying children in need is a thieving charity!

If i give my monies or donate or gift i like to see the full box of chocolates going to the cause, not a quarter of the box .!

I think you have a problem with me being outspoken and people who speak there mind,i dont try to discredit any organisation who might think they are contributing to the island,i just speak my mind.

But if people want to big up there organisations in the newspapers and advertise there little shindigs off the back of the plight of a little boys misfortune, then i rest my case on that note.

How much do you need to raise and how long are you hoping to support Ismail?

I did locate a World Charity that has a dedicated children's prosthesis centre, http://www.miraclesthecharity.org

They asked for more info, I must say I am really disappointed that I never got any feed back, I would have thought this would have been a priority as this Charity may have offered immediate help!!

gillken, please accept my apologies, I have been up to my neck with this project, I did not realise how big or how involved it would be,

We have only just sorted the legal issues etc. and been able to move forward. You will see from my previous posts that we only have occasional electric, which makes things very very difficult.

But I now have a good team around me and this is something that we will address, I also have to be guided by the chosen Charity we are working with.

I estimate that in the long term say over the next 5 years we will need around £20,000. But for the first Symplistic Arm, Flights, medical, etc etc. I would think around £5000.

This is very approx, but gives us something to aim at.

Do not be disappointed, your input is very welcome, Thank you. I will address it at our next meeting.
