Children as young as 11 have been issued with iPhones to give an instant rating on their teachers. They are being encouraged to email 'spy' messages to senior staff during lessons.

The move is part of a government 'pupil power' drive which is being blamed for duelling a 'crisis of adult authority'

It is just one in a disturbing catalogue of examples produced at the weekend of teachers authority being undermined.

Proof, if proof were needed, that Great Britain has gone completely barking mad.

What, pray, is a "crisis of adult authority" when it's at home?

Why anyone would choose to take up teaching in this day and age is a mystery to me, that's for sure.

Hi Liz, apparently daughter here says that kids already are put on a panel and ask teachers questions while on the interview. Also show the teacher around the school and asks further questions. Must be the reason why she has chosen to leave the YUK system and gone to Sweden.

I took early retirement from teaching last year and although I miss the children I am so glad that I made that decision.

Respect cannot be taught, there are no rules or guidelines on who exactly deserves respect. Teachers are there to teach a curriculum, not to try and instill their own values in children.
